Kidswest is a disappointment to say the least. One of my children was bullied by their staff member, Rachel for close to a year before I finally had to threaten to pull him from their care so they'd quit allowing her to supervise my child. He was punched 2 days ago by another student and nothing was done. I was shocked to hear my children both had Fineas and Ferb memorized when we went to a hotel this year because we don't have cable. They said they watch it daily instead of going outside to play while in Kidswest care.

West Des Moines School system has been a complete disappointment. For an institution that is based on providing for children, it’s amazing the lack of child care available. I was on a wait list a year just to get care that doesn’t fit my schedule. Theres no PM care in the whole city. No provider is willing to work with a single parent. I’m repeatedly given a list of dead end resources that do not lead to solutions when I ask for help. There is NO SUPORT for single parent families. Only one daycare provides transport from school. The whole district would rather penalize parents like me for needing PM care and transport than provide a real solution. Ive been asking for 3 years and no changes. No additional resources. My family is being forced to leave due to lack of reasonable childcare. Whoever makes the decisions on this would rather put families deeper in need than help. I was threatened to be cancelled from childcare because my shift doesn’t end until 6 when the after school program closes. Other families need PM care too, provide the care needed by your community instead of making life harder on your most vulnerable families. If I had lost after school care, I would lose my job, and as the sole provider for my child, I would bot be able to provide and your staff seemed quite happy they might get me fired. For woking until 6. Thats my offense. If you’re thinking of sending your kids here, don’t.

a teacher at indian hills took my xbox controller and since then they havent called me to pick it up ir havent gave it to me which is kinda of a theft since they hust took it from me and then not giving it back which it costed like 60$ but havent gotten back, and i call and no one answers like why does this school district have to be so bad.
