Daystar Infant Learning Center

We left Daystar with serious concerns about our child’s care, primarily due to poor communication and a lack of compassion. Communication was terrible. Both my husband and I made repeated efforts to be kind, warm, and build a positive relationship with his teacher, but those efforts were not reciprocated. Simple questions about our child’s day, eating, or development were not just ignored, we were made to feel like an inconvenience for asking. We can count on one hand how many times his teacher, Traletta, spoke to us. She almost always ignored us during pickup and drop-off and avoided communication entirely. I never saw her hold our one-year-old or meaningfully interact with most of the children. There were also frequent staff changes in the classroom, with different caregivers present without any introduction or explanation to parents. Less than a month after our child started in this classroom, my mother passed away. Despite staff being aware, there was no acknowledgment, support, or kindness shown to our family. In fact, staff appeared visibly irritated that our child needed to be taken out of class more frequently during this time, even though this was unavoidable due to a major family loss. On multiple occasions, our child came home with bite marks and minor injuries that were never reported. We only discovered them later at home, with no explanation or incident reports provided. My husband and I have spent a lot of time trying to understand what we could have done to warrant being treated, and having our child treated, in this way. We are giving two stars only because the infant room staff did a much better job. Overall, the one-year-old room was not a good fit for our family. We are much happier with our child’s new daycare, where communication and care are far better.

I have had children at Daystar for 4.5 years and it has been great. Really great teachers and experience all around. I love being able to leave my kids at a daycare I can trust. The infant care is amazing, all 3 of my babies have been in that class.

It is a BIG deal to me that I can drop off my children at this place every morning like I have for the past 6+ years and trust that they will be well taken care of. I have three children, and I can say that daystar has provided wonderful, loving care for each one of them. I am very thankful for daystar childcare and the genuine love and care they provide for all children. Child rearing is hard and I am grateful to have a partner in Daystar Childcare in helping my family with that most difficult and most important work!

The speech therapist who helps our three-year-old (who is not in any way affiliated with DayStar) literally said that DayStar is "the best daycare I've ever seen." I have an incredibly high opinion of the speech therapist - she is is clearly and expert and a professional. I thought this feedback was worth sharing. My wife and I have have a lot of good things to say about this daycare, but I thought the expert opinion was the most important thing to include in my review.

This is a high quality day care that cares very deeply about the children and community. We’ll miss Daystar very much!
