Parents praise Davis Family YMCA for its clean, well-maintained facility with excellent childcare and preschool-readiness programs. Staff members, including teachers Olivia and Jazmin, are consistently described as kind, supportive, and encouraging. The center offers quality swim lessons, flexible childcare hours, and diverse recreational activities for families.
This is the best YMCA I’ve ever been to. Lots of things for children to do. Child care hours are better than any other gym I’ve been to. Lots of work out equipment here too.
We love the YMCA! So thankful there is one in our community. It’s the perfect place for my toddler to learn and grow and she has because of their great programs and daycare. We did little learner’s before starting preschool and it was great! The teachers, Olivia and Jazmin, were wonderful. My daughter’s transition to preschool was perfect and I feel like this program really helped what that. If you’re looking for a preschool-readiness program for your little one sign up for this 🙃
I had to start working out because of health problems i would rather go to the Y than any other gym in the area. This place is so clean and I love all the classes they offer. Carol
So my review is based on a very negative experience at Davis YMCA with two staff members during Homeschool Swim and Gym in Spring of 2025. A group of our preteen daughters were involved for a few years in the program, and really loved it. One random afternoon, they were changing out of their swimsuits in the girl's locker room with three or four of us mothers in the room, too. The staff member who sits at the front desk, named Carrie (I may not have her name spelled correctly), came in and in her typical nasty front desk tone and told us mothers that we were not allowed to be in the locker room with our daughters as per 'the rules'. Some of our daughters were partially naked at this time, which we found odd that she was even in there when there were partially naked preteen girls and then telling us mothers we were not permitted to be in there. Some of the mothers were really upset. I knew it was her typical tone that came across so nasty because I have (for a few years) heard the way she speaks to people, so I was much less shocked than some other mothers were. After going home and checking the website, we found out that mothers were ALLOWED to be in the girl's locker room with their children. Carrie was not only rude, a little creepy, but also INCORRECT. The next Homeschool Swim Gym Class we attended, I approached Carrie respectfully to let her know that she upset some of the mothers and that after checking the website, we found out that we were permitted in the locker room with our children. I don't think that I even had those statements completely out of my mouth before her finger was in my face and cutting me off telling me to talk to her supervisor, Tamera (name could also be spelled wrong). So now shocked, I walk with my oldest child, (who does not attend Swim Gym) into Tamera's office and I am heated at this point because I did not expected Carrie to be waving her long, fake nails at me, and I try to articulate the situation to Tamera. Tamera said she "didn't believe me" and asked my older child "is your mom telling the truth?" I did not expect that response obviously, so now I am even more confused and shocked. My kid told her that she was not the child in the locker room. I really didn't expect this to turn into basically being called a liar in front of my kid, I thought it would be the usual professional response of "I will have a talk with my employee, thank you for letting me know". Then, I go and get my preteen daughter that was involved in the incident and marched her into Tamera's office so she could tell her what happened, and another mother came in to say what happened in the locker room as well. Tamera just sat there smirking at us, as Carrie walked in and out of the office smirking at us, too. No apology, Nothing. The two women are obviously good friends and we were getting no where by talking to either of them. Needless to say, none of us mothers signed up for another session of Homeschool Swim Gym after this. No one expects this drama when signing up for a simple, what is supposed to be fun, class for a group of preteen little girls. Their behavior is both petty and gross.
We love the swim lessons at the Davis Family YMCA! All the staff are so kind and respectful.
