My 5-year old son is currently at the Co-Op, and we love it! The teachers are wonderful and the community is amazing. As a former educator, I love seeing the intentional learning experiences, hands-on experiments, and creative crafts. My son has grown so much and looks forward to seeing his friends every day. We've had such a positive experience and would highly recommend it!
I’m so incredibly grateful for the three years my son has spent at Dallas Cooperative Preschool. It’s a special place, with special teachers, that can gift a kiddo with curiosity and a genuine love of learning, and more importantly, with the confidence and self-assuredness to be exactly as he is. Every day at the Coop, the teachers have loved and embraced my son for his unique character and strengths, and they’ve nurtured his opportunities for growth. This place is a family - we feel it, my son feels it, and our decision to enroll him these past three years will forever benefit him.
I’ve had two children attend the Coop, and we’ve loved it! The adults here are kind, caring, and nurturing, allowing my children to develop into kiddos who love school & cherish learning. My oldest has moved on to elementary school, & I can confidently say that the Coop prepared her to succeed academically, and also socially!
I toured a couple different preschools. When I came to the Dallas co-op and saw how the teachers interacted with the students, I noticed a change. The warm way in which they communicated with them, but yet were so experienced and good with children stood out to me. As I have enrolled my child and had him in the co-op, I have observed a unique atmosphere, culture, and especially attitude of the teachers. They "are" for the children. They're there for them in little ways and big - to push a child sitting in a swing, to help a child that always plays alone to play with others, etc. I have observed a teacher grab a branch of a tree and shake it so the kids can enjoy the wonder of leaves falling down. I have observed a teacher sit on a child's swing next to a child and demonstrate how to pump her legs on a swing. These teachers wear T-shirts and earrings for the topics and holidays they discuss with the kids. It is my belief that they really are the real deal - they are there for the children, and they "are" for them. They are kind to the parents, and are real. To me it doesn't seem like there is an air of disappointment or scolding at a parent's imperfect efforts or a child's imperfect knowledge of the alphabet, etc. When my child spelled something incorrectly on a chart that would be seen publicly, I was embarrassed. But later, the teacher told me she was glad I didn't correct him because at this stage, he needs encouragement and praise for his efforts, and with practice, he would get it. These are the types of people and culture here. They are really something special and unique. I'm surprised at how frequently they remember each student and look out for them. I am grateful for this place and feel very thankful that I can send my children to a warm, loving place where teachers are looking out for the best interest of each child.
The Co-op is the most developmentally appropriate place for kids attending preschool. We have had two children attend and plan to send our third! The teachers really love the kids and the kids really LOVE the teachers and school!! I would recommend to anyone looking for a preschool.
