My daughter attended Southern Pines Academy from 2 yr until she started kindergarten at 5.5 yr, and I cannot recommend them enough. Her father and I both work full time; she attended M-F, 8 am-5:30 pm. The facilities are kept clean and organized, and the staff (all the teachers she had over the years/different classrooms) were always mindful and kind. The learning environment is structured and inclusive , while also fostering the individual needs of kids. My daughter knew all her numbers, letters, and colors very early. However, Southern Pines Academy still found ways to support her growth and development not only socially, but also through the introduction of broader concepts and ideas. My daughter never stopped learning while she was there, and I believe it played a role in her reading independently at 5. We are a military family and they made the subsidy program a breeze for us. Payments were made easy, as was receiving the tax information every year. Any issues or concerns we had were handled with professionalism and expediency. Drop offs/pick ups are simple and quick. Information was communicated effectively (weather delays, closings, etc). Also, the best part (to me, anyway): the kids spend a lot of time outside, running around, and playing.
Our youngest daughter has been attending Southern Pines Academy for over 2 years. We love this daycare center. The teachers and staff are friendly, caring, and always welcome the kids with a smile. They plan activities where families can come participate in fun stuff with their children. Even my older children look forward to these activities. We especially love all the outdoor space here and how much time the kids spend outside. They have a garden that the kids help take care of and get to eat foods they have grown (if they want to). I will also credit the teachers here with doing the majority of the hard work in potty training our daughter! They were so patient with her and their commitment made it easier for us work on potty training at home. I always love hearing about all the fun experiences my daughter has throughout her day, and am constantly impressed with how much she is learning. I highly recommend this daycare!
I highly recommend Southern Pines Academy.Staff are trained and experienced in early childhood development and they always make my daughters feel very comfortable and cared for. Southern Pines Academy is a quality daycare program. The daycare provides age-appropriate learning materials that respect children's cultural and ethnic heritage. The daycare offers opportunities for parent involvement. They also provide regular updates about the children's activities. I look forward to seeing this establishment grow, as it looks like they utilize all the space they currently have.
My two Grandson's have enjoyed their time here. Their speech has improved so much, they knew all their colors, numbers, and letters before the age of 3! They've learned to make friends and how to share which has taught them how to share and be nice with others outside of daycare!
I'd give them six stars if I could. I can't recommend them more. This staff cares so much about children and their education. The best in the region!
