As a one time resident here, I’d never let a child live here. Horrible and abusive. I’d give less stars if possible. One of the worst experiences of my life. I’ll never go back unless it’s to watch it get razed.

I lived here back in the 90's. I absolutely loved it. This place and the loving caring people who work here are the reason I am who I am today. I couldn't have done it without them. I will forever be grateful. I had so many great experiences and memories here.
At age 12, I was the youngest in the first cottage I was at. Girls aged 15-17 would come into the room at night, put a blanket over me, and beat me. This went on for about a year before anything was done about it because the house parents refused to believe me. They never fired the house parents, even though they demonstrated that they were unable to control a house full of teenage girls. They simply moved me to another cottage, which had it's own set of issues but at least the beatings stopped.
Eff this place. Maybe things are better now but I will always remember the belt whooping we got. Even at school. I was there in the late 90's. They put juvie kids in with abandoned kids. So great getting beat by peers and supposed "house parents". This place is why I'm not religious now. Good luck. Great country views is all I can say.cant believe this place still exists.
