My son is going into 2nd grade this year, and we love everything about CPJMA so far. Yes, they were undergoing construction, in which there will always be pain points, but we have a beautiful new school, which we are so excited about and an awesome renovated auditorium for our musical performances (and movie nights). It is a community in every sense of the word, and every teacher thus far has been more than we could hope for. The principal knows every student's name and probably 99% of the parents. She's truly amazing. And the music program is one of a kind. Our music program teachers are award winning. Two after-care programs (Connect The World is the best), and so many after-school clubs (Spanish, science, dance, etc). Best elementary school in PB.
It is nice to have such a great school to serve PB and for kids from all over who choose to come here for their special music program. The teachers and admin staff have always been so kind and supportive of their students. CPJMA is undergoing a construction project right now so when that's all finished this school will be top tier in the school district. My daughter is lucky to go here.
We have moved elementary schools a couple times and landed here at crown point. I’m so happy we did!! Each year gets better and better. Each year we have had the kindest most dedicated teachers. The Principal, Mr. Lopez and the office staff is always kind, considerate and caring. The after school program is also really great. My son has truly thrived at this school and I cannot say enough good things! Very impressed! Thank You for doing what you do!
Went here from 4th - 5th grade, Mr Champion and Mrs Sor were some of the best teachers I ever had and if your looking for a school in the bay area then this one is definitely a recommendation (P.S Mr Champion I MISS YOU and I am in CVUSD instead of SDUSD.)
Our family chose to live in the Crown Point neighborhood for this school and we are so happy! This small magnet music school serves grades Pre K-5. My son has been attending this school for two years now and loves it. He especially loved his first grade teacher this year, Mrs. Tessaro-Love, who has been teaching at this school for many years and sends her own children to this school. The unique violin music program offered to every student was a life changing experience for our family this year. My first grader can play multiple songs after just one year, that is amazing to me. Mr Luchs, the violin instructor, is an expert at teaching these young minds to play the suzuki method. The school has a family feel to it and all the staff and teachers treat my child as their own. The principal Mr. Lopez is very invested and dedicated to making this school great. The rearranging of classes this past year caused some unsettled parents and he took the time to listen to each parent, including myself, and was thoughtful and kind in response. The Three Treasures after school program that my son has been in for two years has taught him life skills as well as meditation, patience and is passionate about teaching the kids about developing good character. We can't say enough good things about this school!
