What Parents Say
Crestmoor Learning Center received four 5-star reviews praising the caring staff, Spanish Immersion program, cleanliness, communication, and educational quality. However, a 1-star review criticizes the new ownership (The Summit Academy) for eliminating part-time care options, reducing sibling discounts, removing vacation days, implementing new absence fees, and providing only two weeks notice during the holidays with significant cost increases.
This 1 star review is not a reflection on the amazing staff at Crestmoor Learning Center who ran a 5 star operation up through December 31, 2025, but this is a review of the new management/ownership "The Summit Academy" that is coming in and destroying what was once an incredible school. We have had two children enrolled at Crestmoor for the last 2 and a half years. We partook in full time for a while, but with changing needs we went to part time. This school was among many other prestigious daycare/early year schools have a wait list of 1.5-2 years long. We were given two weeks notice that Crestmoor under new management will no longer provide part time day care opportunities. The email today stated they wanted to give us "ample" notice. 2 weeks notice over the Christmas and New year holidays is hardly ample notice for such a major change when schools of this reputation require 1-2 year wait-list times to get in. Crestmoor Learning Center has/had a Colorado Shines rating of 4.0. The other two schools that "The Summit Academy" also oversee currently have Colorado Shines ratings of 2.0 due to subpar or unsatisfactory conditions at their other schools. Not only did this school get rid of part time daycare opportunities, but made sweeping punitive changes to their policy manual that fleece already stressed parents paying entirely too much for childcare/preschool. Here are the highlights of the increases that represent roughly a 10% increase in childcare cost by removing certain policies and adding others for newly enrolling families. - Siblings discount reduced from 10% to 5% (~$1,200 to ~$1500 per year per sibling increase effectively). - 14 days of vacation was removed (~$1300 to ~$1600 per year increase effectively) - $40 per day fee for each additional day of absence not excused by a doctors note (up to $520 per year increase effectively in lieu of 14 days vacation and more if your child does happen to miss even more....) In addition to these sweeping changes, the notice was so short, our children were already enrolled in extracurricular activities at Crestmoor for Spring of 2026, Soccer Tots, at a cost of $500+ which I now have to attempt to recoup that money. Furthermore our oldest child was partaking in Colorado's Universal Preschool program to help funding their schooling. I am not sure if I am able to transfer that to another school mid year. Let alone if Crestmoor will properly quit receiving funding from this state funded program when our child leaves, but losing that funding will potentially hurt us financially as we pursue new school opportunities for 2026 with our two weeks of notice over Christmas time. In addition to these sweeping and abrupt changes, their presentation noted many sweeping changes within the school which I don't believe fall in line with what Crestmoor Learning Center originally was as advertised to be during our children's time there. Again this review is for the abrupt and brutal change in ownership. The staff at Crestmoor Learning Center have been absolutely incredible during our time there. The current teachers poured so much into our children during their time there, and it was like a family. We will greatly miss the absolutely incredible teachers and staff that our children had overseeing them during their time at Crestmoor.
Crestmoor is the best Learning Center ever! The staff is loving and welcoming, we have nothing but good things to say about the facility and everyone there. The Spanish Immersion class, makes this learning center better then any around town. We have had our daughter enrolled since she was 3 and are sad to say we are starting Kindergarten. I recommend this learning center to anyone and everyone, that wants to give your a child a great foundation for education :-)
We moved from Denver 4 months ago and my biggest regret is having to leave Crestmoor. My kids and I miss CLC! The teachers and staff are amazing. I really feel like they knew and loved children. The directors and teachers went out of their way to make sure that all my questions and concerns were always taken care of. We really felt like we were part of the family. The communication was also excellent. I received notes on my children's daily activities, every month there was a newsletter and I was comfortable calling during the day for any reason. I toured a lot of daycares in Denver before I enrolled my kids at Crestmoor and I really feel like this is the best daycare in the area. The education is excellent and the projects they brought home were really well thought out and creative. My daughter was enrolled in the Spanish Immersion program and really enjoyed it. I still have not found a daycare for my kids that even compares to Crestmoor.
We have two kids here and we think it's a wonderful school. The principal, Ms. Sonia, and the teachers are very professional and personable. Our kids like it too. Los ninos y las profesoras hablan español ~50% durante la día.
This place is absolutely wonderful- we love our child’s teachers and administrators. It is clean, the food is good and they get plenty of time outdoors
