What Parents Say
Creative Beginnings receives mixed reviews with stark contrasts between experiences. Positive reviews praise the caring staff, beautiful facility, and long-term developmental support, while negative reviews cite unprofessionalism, poor handling of typical toddler behavior, and staff unwillingness to work with active or struggling children.
Unprofessional, and ultimately unreliable as a result. Our daughter spent 2 years at this daycare, from 1 year to 3 years old. Problems began at age 2.5, when the administrative staff seemed to be looking for any reason they could to send the kid home and ruin your workday. The craziest phone call I ever got from them was when they wanted me to come pick up my daughter at 11 am because she had refused to put her jacket on. The teachers for some reason used pick up time as a daily opportunity to complain about fairly standard 2 year old behaviors - often whining about what a tough day they had because your two your old isn't great at regulating their emotions. I dreaded daily pick up and any interaction with the staff as a result. For the record, your customers do not want to hear you whine on a daily basis about the fact that two year olds can be uncooperative and a lot of work. Your customers literally pay you to take care of that so that we can earn a living. The staff doesn't seem to have a clue how to handle a toddler who isn't perfectly behaved. I found myself wondering how such people are licensed to provide the very same care they dont seem to want to provide. In the end, we left because we were unhappy with the multiple examples of unprofessionalism, rude treatment and being yelled at by administrators, nearly constant indications of incompetence, and a lack of understanding of what it is their clients pay them to do. We gave two weeks notice as a courtesy when we withdrew our child, and the admin staff had the gall to tell us not to come back with only 4 days left. What a petty and immature way to cap off such a rotten overall experience. Also, we found them to be amongst the most expensive options. Go figure.
Excellent care, beautiful facility, knowledgeable staff, low turnover for the industry, and lots of love for my daughter. I'm very happy with my experience.
Creative Beginnings has been a great daycare for us since our child was 6 months old. His teachers are caring, fun, and thoughtful.
I used to love this daycare but COVID has had a real impact on the staff and leadership. We'd been using them for about 5 years when my son, who had just turned 2, wasn't napping or sitting still consistently enough for them, which is not abnormal for his age. One day they called me at work to tell me he had been crying for 45 min and staff was "threatening to quit". I was told I had to come pick up my son immediately and he was "not welcome back". All I heard was my child was clearly in distress and they couldn't or wouldn't help him. In hindsight, he was so scared of his teachers, it makes me wonder what else was going on in that room. When I tried to ask questions (transition time, etc.), the owner screamed so loudly my whole office could hear. She continued to not only insult me as a person and a mother, but my son as well. Their lack of professionalism and empathy is astounding. COVID has stressed them so much, It clearly isn't about the children anymore. My son is now much happier at a more stable childcare.
Extremely unprofessional and unreliable. My toddler was supposed to start daycare here and we were told he would have 3 weeks to learn the classroom schedule and get adjusted. The day before he was supposed to start, the daycare called and said he was “too active” for their staff and our spot was pulled from us. I was left with no childcare and in a days notice. I had to take a week off from work to find other childcare arrangements. The staff is not trained to care for toddlers that do more than just sit.
