What Parents Say
Coulee Children's Center receives mixed reviews. Most parents praise the caring, attentive staff and positive long-term impact on their children. However, some parents report serious concerns about infant safety practices, lack of engagement with children, and inaccurate daily reporting.
I brought my daughter to the infant room. While she was there I noticed things that made me nervous to have another child attend the room. They would wrap babies in blankets and at one point I had to remove a blanket from a babies face that was up to his forehead. Even after informing the Director they still swaddled the babies this way. One day I walked in and a 4 month old was sleeping in a swing facing the wall with a burp rag covering her eyes. The staff could not see her and said it was to block the lights. Another day a baby was laying on their back with a bottle they could barely hold. They don’t require parents or staff to take off their shoes even in the winter so my 1 year old had a piece of gum in her mouth. I left the daycare because I would not trust another infant there. I also felt very unwelcomed by some staff. I brought all these issues to the Director and not one thing changed.
I was one who was NEVER going to put her child in daycare. Our finances said otherwise. My son began as a 21 month-old and I never once regretted my choice. When my daughter was born, I was getting a divorce, my son was starting 1st grade and Coulee Children's Center became our "constant". We were loved, valued, and taken care of. My son is now in college and my daughter in high school. Both have the most solid of foundations in part to their being a part of Coulee Children's Center.
I would have liked the center a little bit better if me and my daughter felt welcomed, not only did I feel un welcomed but when I would always pick my daughter up she would be playing alone a lot of the time as if the staff didn’t really care for her.another thing I noticed was, I would see my daughter crying and staff did not make any effort to redirect my kid to something eles to help from crying or try in cheer her up in a different way. I get it, kids cry but they would do nothing but just let her cry. I’ve stood in the door way twice and noticed that for my own eyes. One huge thing that I noticed that upsets me the most was every day I would pick up my daughters daily report sheet, the sheet tells you what your kid did through out the day and what they’ve eatin. I noticed everyday on my daughter sheet it says she ate eggs, witch I know was a lie because she hates eggs. I didn’t understand why they would put that she had eggs when she don’t eat them. She absolutely hates them, so if she didn’t eat the eggs, what did she eat??? Did the teacher/staff even try in replace it with something eles?? I would pick my daughter up from the center and she is basically crying because she’s hungry, that was just the last straw for me. I do not care for this center what so ever. So many fake smiles there, I hope who ever eles brings there kid there have a better experience then me and my child did.
We love the care givers. They took the time to get to know my daughter. Asked me questions on what she liked and didn't like to better her experience there. The staff are so informative and ready/willing to help. We are moving down to Texas but coulee children's center will be missed as we go. Thank you guys for everything you did for us and loving our daughter the way you guys have.
Amazing staff, fun, safe, clean, trustworthy, educational, affordable, multi-child discount.
