I canceled my YMCA membership and received written email confirmation that it was canceled. Despite this, YMCA continued attempting to charge my account multiple times. I contacted them and my bank, but the charges kept being pushed through as “pending” attempts. Because YMCA would not fully stop the billing on their end, I was ultimately forced to close my bank account to prevent further charges. This was extremely stressful and disruptive. Canceling should mean canceling. Be very cautious about billing and keep all documentation if you sign up.

I had a very upsetting experience at the YMCA Copley on July 27 in the family pool area. My son, who is on the autism spectrum and has swimming experience, struggled to understand the swim test instructions. When I asked to step in and demonstrate what he needed to do, the lifeguard refused and made no effort to guide him. From that moment on, it felt like the staff was acting in a harassing way toward us, constantly watching us, calling out every little thing we did, whispering about us, and denying us simple things like pool noodles without explanation. Even when my son finished a small slushy in an area with no signage against food, staff reacted irritably. They even asked me to help adjust the lane divider—something staff should handle—and I was accidentally hit by the hook during the process, which was unsafe and completely inappropriate. This experience was so negative that I have not wanted to return since. The only positive thing is that when I filed a complaint, someone did reply to me. However, I do not recommend this location for families, as the staff’s behavior comes across as harassing rather than supportive.

Living next to the YMCA has been far more disruptive than I ever expected. Late-night soccer games with constant shouting from adult players make it impossible to get a good night’s sleep, giving me headaches and affecting my mornings. My daughter is also impacted, as we have to wake up extra early to get her to school after these noisy nights. I never thought a community facility meant for health and wellness would negatively affect the neighborhood’s quality of life, and I hope the YMCA takes steps to address this issue.

The YMCAs needs more intelligent staff, Just to educate you YMCA you never ever ever ever ever ever put children/teenagers people in their early 20s who have no concept of how to function in the world to answer your phone system This has been going on for too long, If you want people to JOIN your club then the people that answer the phones need to be adults and I mean experienced adults, obviously ideally over the age of 30 and they actually have to be really helpful I spoke to a little BRAT named Elliot She wouldn't help me whatsoever I asked her for an adult to speak to or a manager and she absolutely would not do that,... A wise company would never allow the least experience and the least knowledgeable to manage the phone system, You are turning people OFF, get wise, get the lazy executives off of their butts and actually truly manage this company.

Visited this swimming pool in the evening. Water was clean, changing rooms were maintained, and overall atmosphere felt calm and suitable for a relaxed swim.
