My wife and I were new to Orange County and even newer to Jewish community life when we checked out CBI. From our first visit, the CBI village welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home. CBI has now become a center of our young family's life. Rabbi Adam and the entire clergy bring a warm, fresh approach, grounded in tradition, to service and teaching. I'll never forget the outpouring of support and care we received from the community after our first child was born (meals, house calls, gift baskets, etc.). There is no other Jewish space like this in Orange County. If you are looking to reconnect with Jewish community of all ages, or are curious in exploring Judaism, CBI is the place for you.
CBI is truly a special community!! I first learned about it through several friends who are members, as well as a friend who took the Intro to Judaism course as part of her conversion journey. I completed the class myself last spring, and it was exceptional—fun, informative, and deeply engaging. It’s a wonderful course both for those considering conversion and for anyone hoping to explore their Jewish faith and culture more fully. After finishing the Intro course, my family and I became members of CBI. I was genuinely impressed—and honestly quite moved—by the open, welcoming environment that Rabbi Adam and Cantor Amy have cultivated. We have two young boys (ages 7 and 9), and the clergy and congregants alike have been incredibly warm and understanding of the “exuberance” that comes with young children!! It truly feels like a community that embraces every age and stage of life. For anyone searching for a new synagogue, regardless of your background or level of practice, I wholeheartedly encourage you to visit CBI!! You’ll be met with kindness, greeted with smiles, and made to feel completely at home.
CBI is a wonderfully inclusive and kind community. Despite rising antisemitism and threats, this community continues to be a beacon of hospitality and welcome. This is a place where you feel proud and happy to be Jewish. The sanctuary is truly beautiful and it is also one of only a few I have seen with a ramp to the bimah, not just stairs. All in all, a fantastic synagogue and community.
CBI is an amazing synagogue. It is welcoming to all Jews regardless of level of practice. The congregation is warm and inviting. Rabbi Adam and Cantor Amy can’t be beat. I am so happy to be a member.
CBI feels like home. The community is warm, welcoming and kind for all people and at all levels of observance. Our family loves the kids programming and uplifting music. Rabbi Greenwald and Cantor Amy provide a space to connect with yourself, with G-d and with an expectational community. Thank you CBI!
