Community Preschool And Nursery

After 11 months of it just being me and my daughter together 24/7 I was skeptical about daycare in general, but with a lack there of help it was time to put her in one. I needed a daycare short notice and a coworker of mine recommend Community Preschool and Nursery. When I went for the tour I was sold off of the fact that the center had an automatic clean smell soon as I walked in. The staff is very friendly and the infant teacher really takes a liking to all the children as if they were her own. My daughter looks happy when I go to pick her up now that she’s getting more comfortable. The daycare has a really good location and the only con I would say is the cut off time but it’s understandable so it doesn’t interfere with the designated nap time. I would recommend this daycare to anyone especially if they need a convenient location right on the main drag of Penn Ave and being close to Children’s Hospital is a plus as well.

PLEASE READ: I picked my son up after a 5 hour stay at daycare earlier this month. His diaper had clearly not been changed since I dropped him off (torture for a toddler). It had also rained lightly that day and when we were leaving I noticed that that the roof inside the daycare was leaking! To make matters even worse the staff was using the children’s toy buckets to collect the dirty rain water! We left and will not return. The head office of Community Preschool has not returned my calls for a refund. I would highly recommend NOT sending your children here. It is not sanitary. Monroe’s in Oakland is MUCH better!!!! (and less expensive).

My son attends this daycare and they're AMAZING! I have loved this daycare and the teachers since day 1. There is great communication between teachers and parents, my son enjoys going everyday and even asks on the weekends, what are my teachers and friends doing today? Anytime I have a chance to recommend the Penn Avenue center I do! I feel they're genuinely interested in my son's day, teach him age-relevant activities, and also, have appropriate discipline for an older toddler/preschool aged child. I will definitely be sad when my son starts school or we move from this area because I know my son is in such great and safe hands here! If you're close by to the Children's Hospital area, this is the daycare to look into and it's right on the bus line, too!

If I could give 0 stars I would! Stay as far away from this daycare as possible! My daughter attended this daycare when she was 9 months old at the time and of course she’s going to cry her first couple of days, it was her first time at daycare and away from her parents. Long story short, my fiancé dropped her off and left the building. When he got to his car something told him to go check on her and thank God he did. The unfit staff had my baby in a high hair facing the wall crying!! She’s a baby for goodness sakes! That WILL NOT stop her from crying! Are you telling me you ran out of other ideas to console her?? Needless to say that was her last day. It’s hard to come by a good daycare these days and this is NOT one of them. Absolutely not! I would highly recommended some childhood development classes/degree for the “teachers” in this facility.

This is the worst daycare every. They don't have a clue about watching kids. I notice that they don't pay them kids any attention. My 4 month son at them would have scratches all over his face because they failed to look after him while he was up under their care. My kids would have other kids bottles,pacifier, pampers, an they would give my kids stuff to other kids to use. My son had a diaper rush for her because they Left him pissy all day long. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HELL HOLE TO ANYONE. WATCH THEY AN THEY KNOW THERE WRONG I HOPE THE STATE SHUT THEM DOWN I WILL WORK TO GET IT DONE
