What Parents Say
Commerce City Recreation Summer Program receives consistently high praise from parents, particularly for its swimming instruction program and newly remodeled pool facilities. Parents highlight the welcoming staff, clean environment, and effective instructors like Michael and Mary. One parent raised concerns about unsupervised children and behavioral issues on Sundays, as well as accessibility challenges for those with mobility limitations.
We are incredibly happy with our daughters’ swimming instructor, Michael! When we started, one of our daughters was actually afraid of the water. Thanks to Michael’s patience, professionalism, and amazing teaching skills, she now swims confidently and even enjoys being in the pool. The private lessons every Saturday are just 30 minutes long, but the progress has been truly impressive. Michael has a wonderful way of connecting with kids and making them feel safe and motivated. We couldn’t be more grateful and highly recommend him to any parent looking for an excellent swim coach!
My neighborhood rec ctr...... for almost 20 yrz , I love the newly remodeled pool area, kinda sad about all the different weight equipment is gone. They do have new 1s, about 5 or 6, compared to 20+. There's a classroom, I was told that provide the air bikes, aerobics and so forth. I Love The Pool area, !!!! Laps, showers, lockers! ( bring your own lock or they do sell em too) It's all awesome! Change is good. Thank you commerce city...
First time here! Everyone was welcoming and it’s a very homey feel! Mirrors are great
HAD A LOT OF PAIN SO I Came here for the therapeutic pool it was amazing, THE LIFEGUARD MICHAEL WAS GREAT SUPER NICE! FELT SO WELCOMED BY STAFF. WILL DEFINITELY COME AGAIN.
I do exercise in their pool for an hour a day most days. The experience is 10 out of 10 during the week. There are a few things to consider though. First, if you are in a bariatric wheelchair and you cannot actually stand on your own this facility can be hard to navigate. Not impossible. But, hard. If you are trying to get to the pool you have to stand up to get through the door. This could be fixed by a matter of 2 in. Something for stuff and maintenance to consider. Another thing if you are a community member and you are using the facility. Lock up your belongings! There is a good chance that they will be stolen if you do not! On Saturday the pool is really busy. There's a lot of classes..just find your spot and stay out of the others way. Sundays, STAY HOME! EVERY SUNDAY THAT I HAVE BEEN THERE HAS BEEN A VAST QUANTITY OF CHILDREN WHO WERE UNACCOMPANIED! DOESN'T SOUND LIKE IT SHOULD BE A PROBLEM RIGHT? WELL, IT DEFINITELY WAS AND IS HERE! THESE CHILDREN WERE CURSING, USING VULGAR TERMINOLOGY, MAKING FUN OF OTHERS, AND TOUCHING ME! I'm not trying to be a Karen so I came back 5 or 6 times to see is this something that continues to happen. Well, child it is! 0 out of 10! Also, if your teens go to eagle pointe on Sundays, watch them or something! Because my children would be in serious trouble! I also want to say that the staff here have nothing to do with my experience. They do try their hardest to get the kids to listen to them. Sundays are busy days for staff at Eagle a pointe!
