Columbus Pre-School

We love Columbus Preschool! I was nervous about sending my little one to preschool but after meeting her teachers, Taylor and Allie, and watching how they interacted with all the students I knew she would be in good hands. They are so kind and knowledgeable. The director, Julie, is also amazing and cares about each child enrolled at Columbus. I love how my child gets lots of opportunities to play and explore. The activities the students do are developmentally appropriate which I think is very important (as someone with an Elementary Education background). I also love how my daughter has gym class and music class. I highly recommend this preschool!

My family and I love Columbus! We have two children currently enrolled, one in her second year and the other in his first year. We've been so impressed with the communication from the Director, Julie and from the teachers (daily photo updates along with a detailed description of what the class did that day), their dedication to the students, and the physical space of the school (large outdoor play space and amazing indoor gym.) The parent community is lovely and down to earth and the community as a whole is so warm and welcoming. We chose Columbus over many other highly rated preschools on the UWS and are very happy with our decision!

I can’t recommend this preschool enough. It’s a beautiful start to a child’s educational journey. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how much care and thought goes into everything they do. The classrooms are filled with natural light, and real play and education materials! The teachers are incredible! Thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child. It really feels like your child has an individualized plan and is deeply cared for. The children and families are so down to earth and welcoming. I especially love the end-of-day updates with photos and summaries of what the children did; it makes you feel so connected to their day.

Our family absolutely loves Columbus Preschool. From the moment we met Julie and the team in admissions, we felt the passion and dedication they have for instilling a lifelong love of learning in each student. There is no greater value to me as a parent than that! My child’s teachers have been incredible - warm, engaged, friendly, and reassuring. They create a lovely balance of play, skill development, and social/emotional learning — and it’s so clear with every update I receive that my kiddo loves her time there. As frosting on the cake, their indoor and outdoor facilities are amazing! SO glad to be first-time members of this community.

My daughter started the 3s program this year and we couldn’t be happier. The huge smile on her face at drop off shows us how excited she is for school every day. After looking at 10+ schools on the UWS last year, we chose Columbus because of the bright, airy classrooms, the on-site amenities, and most importantly- the inclusive welcoming environment coupled with strong social emotional development and academic learning. The Director Julie has deep knowledge of early learning and child development and they have high teacher retention. It’s a lovely environment with good families and we couldn’t be happier.
