My short experience with CAC DTC has been extremely underwhelming, and the manager, Kat, is the sole reason I submitted a cancellation request. I stopped by the office, politely started with “Happy New Year,” and raised serious hygiene concerns—specifically the filthy, corroded faucets in the bathrooms (see photo). Her response? She flat-out refused to acknowledge there was an issue and stated they “wait until things fail.” That attitude alone is unacceptable. These fixtures are disgusting, unsanitary, and clearly neglected. I also raised concerns about the cheap, low-quality toilet paper that disintegrates, forcing people to fish it out—an extremely unhygienic situation in a gym environment. Again, she refused to acknowledge there had ever been an issue or to investigate. Apparently, basic cleanliness and disease prevention are not a priority here. The facility itself is aging and poorly maintained, and it is absolutely not worth a $100+ monthly membership, especially when management refuses to listen, investigate, or take accountability. Instead of professionalism, I was met with rudeness and dismissal. This isn’t new behavior either. Months ago, Kat wrongfully sided with a trainer who failed to provide me with the terms and conditions for training sessions before purchase. Because of their lack of diligence, I lost a session in the system—which they refused to credit. While I initially let it go, today’s discussion made it clear they still believe this was my negligence, despite the fact that the terms were never presented. That says everything about the complete lack of accountability from top to bottom at this gym. At this point, I am seriously considering filing complaints with OSHA and the State Attorney under consumer protection laws, because it appears CAC will not act unless forced to. This did not need to escalate. All management had to say was: “Absolutely, we’ll investigate and replace the faucets and toilet paper. Can you show us where you noticed the issue?” Instead, they chose arrogance and denial. So be it.
Katie is the sole reason why I am giving 2 stars. She is so amazing and personable and a great active listener. My rating is so low because they are charging well over $115/month (not including the sign-up fee) for a gym that's no better than a Vasa or Planet Fitness! The reason why you can't find their costs/fees online is because they're so absolutely outrageous they will scare you away... Normally, it's $320 just to begin the membership... a $200 enrollment fee and about $116 or more per month! (The enrollment fee is waved with a certain sale after Christmas.) Be warned, other reviews also mention a weird cancellation thing of 3 months or something... Definitely ask about this before signing up. However, Katie was diligent and respectful. I recommend speaking with her. She's incredibly kind and understanding. The locker rooms were gross, dirty, and unmaintained. I only went one time, and 2 of the three sinks I used trying to wash my hands were flooding and spraying on me... Gross! Their hours are extremely limited... the front desk guy gave me a hard time for leaving 2 minutes after closing... like, sorry? I couldn't find a working sink! Oh, and LADIES DO NOT GET A SAUNA, BUT MEN DO?!?! fyi.... that's an equality issue, btw... Their cardio equipment is terrible. Sticky, outdated, and clearly dirty. Ellipticals are at least a decade old; some of their buttons and screens don't even work... Their "new" treadmills only go up to 6 mph pace despite being new... Making them subpar for any average/above-average runner. Now, I will say, it's one of the best resistance setups I have experienced... a ton of space, weights, decent squat racks, and an awesome turf area. Their new glute-focused machines are awesome! However, this gym is just charging way, way, way too much for what's offered. You can find the same, if not better, at your local commercial gym for 1/6th of what DTC Colorado Athletic Club charges... I am a qualified, professional fitness enthusiast (or a fitness snob, if you will ;) ...). If you're like me, I highly suggest looking at a different gym.
Like others have said, this gym is just another place that’s scammy when it comes to memberships. I tried to cancel both mine and my husband’s memberships and was told we were on a joint account and that both would be canceled. That didn’t happen, we were still charged for one after what we were told would be the final month. When I called back to cancel the second membership, I was then told our accounts were never linked in the first place, meaning we also never received the discount for having two memberships. That’s just bad business. Frustrating after giving them our business for three years.
These guys signed me up for $110/month. The first month came out of my account for $150. After bringing this to their attention, they told me they made a mistake at signup and the rate is $150/month. I am trapped in at 3 months but will be cancelling immediately after. THIS IS TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. The gym is mostly empty now, they should have been happy just for a new member. A lot of their equipment is rusty too, I'll get pics and add to this post later
DIRTY LOCKER ROOMS I’ve been a member at this gym and location for quite some time, but the condition of the locker rooms is absolutely unacceptable. What’s most shocking is how neglected and filthy these areas have become—especially considering how much we pay for memberships. PICTURES ATTACHED. All Photos are from October 2024 **Steam Room:** Dirty floors, grimy tiles, and a constant stench of mold. I’ve taken pictures that show visible dirt buildup that clearly hasn’t been cleaned in days, if not weeks or months. **Urinals and Stalls:** I never thought I’d say this, but there are feces on the walls of the stalls. It’s horrifying and disgusting, making me question the hygiene standards here. Urine is caked on the urinals and floor. **Showers & Countertops:** The showers are a breeding ground for germs—mold growing in the corners and soap scum buildup all over the floors and walls. The countertops around the sinks are also regularly filthy and covered in grime. **Drinking Fountain:** A simple glance at the drinking fountain tells you everything you need to know about the cleaning practices here. The fountain looks like it hasn’t been wiped down in ages. How can this be the state of a facility where people come to improve their health? **Hot Tub:** Even with the hot tub drained, the condition is appalling. The walls and floor are caked with grime and dirt, revealing just how poorly this area is maintained. You can see layers of filth that have clearly been neglected for far too long. It makes me seriously question whether the hot tub is ever cleaned properly when in use. This is a major health risk. The Hot tub is also broken for the third time this year. **Locker Room Attendant:** I also want to point out the concerning lack of effort by the evening locker room attendant. There's an older gentleman who is supposed to maintain the locker rooms, but all I ever see him do is walk back and forth adding towels to the rack. Meanwhile, the actual cleaning—scrubbing surfaces, disinfecting showers, or even wiping down sinks—seems to be completely ignored. It feels like the bare minimum is being done, and that’s just not enough for a facility of this size and reputation. I’ve brought this to management’s attention multiple times, but **nothing has changed.** It’s clear that cleanliness and maintenance are not priorities here, and that’s beyond disappointing. I have even spoken to the GM and her response is "well we cannot clean all the time, what if we are cleaning someones favorite shower when they are here, we can't have that." She then tried to gas light me saying that the dirt were just 'stains' and not an issue. She unfortunately is not able to walk into the locker rooms with me to showcase this for obvious reasons.
