What Parents Say
NOTE: These reviews are for College of the Canyons, a community college, not a child development center. Reviews praise the college's academic quality, resources, facilities, faculty, and affordable dual enrollment opportunities for high school students.
COC is an amazing place. They offer so much equity to the community. Thanks to their adult re-entry program, the EOPS office, and all of the caring professors I was able attain my AA-T degree in psychology. I graduated with multiple university offers, including UCLA. I highly recommend checking out this campus, it was an answered prayer for me. Go Cougars! πππ½
This review is long overdue. COC is an amazing school. Just a little background, I homeschooled my daughters and had them start taking classes at LAVC at 14 yrs old then move over to COC at 16 yrs old (you have to be 16 to attend for some weird reason). Utilizing dual enrollment as a high school student , the classes were also free as an added bonus. It was an amazing experience for all my daughters as they were able to earn college credit while also fulfilling high school requirements, have time to figure out their passions - and all have done extremely well, built lasting relationships with their professors here and utilized all the myriad of resources available (the TLC here offers free in person and online tutoring for students - an amazing perk). One of my daughters (who transferred to CSUN for Art) even had professors at CoC who were also teaching at Cal Arts. My other daughters are in STEM majors - all have done extremely well, transferred or will be transferring to universities and got a better education than I felt like I did at UCLA (no joke). The amount of resources available at COC is astounding and the professors are top notch (many of them also teach at CSUN, CSU Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona etc). There is also a little advertised engineering club which is affiliated with Cal Tech/ JPL and for the students who participate, this is counted as an internship, with opportunities to have their project selected by NASA and participate in a launch. I feel that a lot of people donβt understand that not every successful university path has to begin as a freshman at a 4 year school. Overall I canβt say enough wonderful things about this school - it has worked out so well for our family :)
College Of The Canyons is a great place for your education. The college is located in the Santa Clarita Valley. They have two campuses. The main campus is located on the west side and the second is on the east side of the Santa Clarita Valley. Both campuses are places for your epic education experience. I highly recommend that you visit these campuses to see the benefits it will bring you and your family at a very low cost. Priceless benefits.
This is a great local community college, and will hopefully become an accredited University some time soon. Great facilities, with lots of growth and expansion recently. Nice performing arts center and a huge new parking structure.
Beautiful campus/football stadium and lot of parking lots. π π€©
