Our family is in the process of applying to head start for our son. The ladies at the Norwich office are incredibly lovely to work with and very helpful! They will even schedule a home visit if you can't make it to Norwich. The people at the school are equally nice and helpful as well. The one and ONLY complaint I have about this wonderful program, is that as first time parent of a school age child, it is very difficult to find information about this program unless you have heard recommendations elsewhere, or knew about it beforehand. Edit many years later (I forgot I even wrote this!): Be careful what information you share with staff. A story about how my daughter needs to ask before getting a carrot out of the fridge resulted in two calls to DCF because raising independent kids = unsupervised and dangerous. Yikes.
