What Parents Say
Circle Time Preschool has highly polarized reviews. Positive reviews praise the caring, experienced staff and child development support in the infant room. However, multiple negative reviews report serious concerns about the owner's (Donna's) management practices, including alleged discrimination, inconsistent policies, safety issues, billing disputes, and harassment.
*warning long* First I want to start out by saying most of the staff is lovely. Honestly, the specific problem I have is with the owner and how she can’t seem to keep a story straight or stay with their “handbook” my daughter was there barely 2 months and it started out great. I’m gonna try to give a rundown of everything quickly. My daughter is having a really rough time transitioning into longer days. Donna had stated maybe we should switch back to two hours a day which had been very hard on me as I’m a full-time student and I was trying to get a job, she was getting paid for full-time hours at this point by the way, and my daughter was going for maybe two hours a day! My daughter started having OK days full-time so I got a job at Dollar General, which was directly across the street and immediately lost that job because I had to keep picking my daughter up early Which I wasn’t upset about because I understand and I don’t want my daughter screaming and crying all day. Donna had told me that because I’m not working I need to be picking my daughter up at a specific time which isn’t true at all you’re getting paid full-time so If I want to use that full-time slot, I should be able to there was nothing saying this in the handbook or in the “contract” that we had signed together! They state on their website on their Facebook in their handbook and on Google. They are open from 7am to 5:30 PM. I brought my daughter in every day at 8:30 AM And I either had to pick her up around lunch most days or if she did do a full day, I picked her up at 4:30/5. I don’t have a vehicle so it took me a little bit to get in occasionally I never dropped her off early and I never picked her up late. Keep that in mind. I was called at 4:30 PM and told that I needed to make sure I’m there by five to pick my daughter up. I said I understand and I’m on my way. The next time I got called at 4:45 saying that I need to start being here by 4 o’clock to pick my daughter up and then when I got there at about 5:01pm (they are open until 5:30) I was told because I’m not working. I need to be picking my daughter up at 4:30 every day. But before that I was told 5 o’clock and then I was told 4 o’clock, so nobody actually knew and people were just making times up and I think it was to get out early because some days they don’t have kids past a certain time because they get picked up for whatever reason They thought that they could tell me different times because I wasn’t working. Donna had stopped me in the morning after this and told me that after 5 PM is reserved which again I was never told about and was not on any paperwork anywhere and not on the website anywhere, and then put her hand up when I tried to speak and said “uh uh” I walked away and went to do what I had to do because I will not be spoken to with disrespect. The cherry on top of the cake was when Donna had called the state on me and told them that I wasn’t working and that I dropped my daughter off “before they officially open” and I “pick her up late” like I said open from 7 AM to 5:30 PM I dropped my daughter off from 8:30 AM to usually about 4:30 PM occasionally until five if my Uber or taxi took too long…. She is clearly money, hungry she clearly doesn’t like people who get state aid or at least she’s discriminatory towards them, and she most certainly does not like difficult children at all, and my daughter is not that difficult as she is emotional, and I tried to let them know what to do to help and I really do believe that one of the staff members really really tried and her name was Ava and she is probably the best employee there I really liked her and I really like the way she handled my daughter and I wanna make sure that that is recognized!! There are a lot of other little safety issues that I had, but I don’t wanna make this review any longer than it already is
Neglectful daycare and abusive! Moldy soap bottles. The only thing she provided to clean with was bleach.. which she let her center go days with no bleach or cleaning resources in A PANDEMIC. Multiple people have called the state on Donna she is greedy money hungry women. does not care about the children in her care. If you love your child please never place them in her care. I watched her force a child outside in the snow with no winter clothes on and made them sit there and cry because she refused to help the child out there snow gear on. Do better Donna. If your child has autism please please never consider this an option. I have seen first hand abuse and no the state does not want to listen to multiple complaints!
I had my daughter go here when she was 2 until she was 4. In their handbook it mentioned they had pizza days on thursdays not once did they mentioned you still had to pay $2.50 for your child to eat. The owner Donna had charge not just me but a lot of other parents as well over and over again for pizza. I had pulled my daughter out of this day care when Covid-19 hit. The woman continued to charge me $25 a day!!! After I had given her my last payment. Donna the owner has harassed me and my family for almost 3 years now stating I owe her money. Which I do not. She has tried to force me to work this so called payment off, she has sent me threatening letters by mail. She has tress passed property leaving notes in the doors. She has threatened to take me to court for payments that are irrelevant. I have had a few old employees of hers who have called the state on her for serving expired snacks molded dish areas, etc. this woman should not have a daycare. I do not trust her one bit. Her employees also found receipts of her paying for boats and stuff for herself at the daycare I’m assuming she’s using the money from the parents to do so. This woman should loose her license.
My daughter has been in the infant room at Circle Time for almost 6 months now (started at 4mo, she's 9.5mo now). We're very happy with our experience so far - the staff is friendly and knowledgable and clearly cares about the kids. They work with you and your child through transitions and milestones, like starting purees, then finger foods and sippy cups. They clearly have a ton of experience with all types of babies - which, as a first time parent is very comforting! A couple of times I've come early to pick her up and found my daughter on a staff member's lap, being read a book. My daughter seems genuinely excited to be there (kicking her legs and grinning at staff members as we walk through the door) and I feel comfortable leaving her there for the day knowing she is happy and safe.
We had our child at Circle Time for about 7 months in the infant room. We had nothing but a good experience here. The staff cares deeply about the children and we know our daughter was loved and cared for every day.
