Domestic Violence Shelter. It is beautiful!!! Clean, safe, with thoughtful, respectful professional, trustworthy amazing staff ! Ohio state/local government are NOT financially supportive, towards ALL of the Homeless Shelters, including DV shelters. Almost No One in the Community of Cincinnati is donating to this, amazing nonprofit. I inquired with several other nonprofits: they said its commonly known, that the funding to this YWCA Domestic Violence shelter, has dwindled, to an exasperating level -- the community stopped giving donations to this nonprofit. In addition, both the state/local government do Not provide adequate of HOMELESS SHELTER in Cincinnati ! Many homeless are forced to be "street". (Homeless persons in Cincinnati basically live at the library downtown, that has fairly recently been newly renovated 🥴) Cincinnati residents have to 🚌 travel, to other counties to find shelter!!! It is ridiculous. I thought this was illegal !!! • A common comment about funding, is that the YWCA Domestic Violence shelter ONLY gets funding from the county? The community needs to help this nonprofit.
If you have nowhere to go when attempting to leave an abusive relationship don’t go to YWCA. You only get 30 days to find so where to go. Case manager gone half the time you’re there won’t even get you an extension. Was lied to about getting a voucher for housing also. You’ll be homeless on the streets. But to them that’s so safe! Good luck! While they ask for donations and tax payers money. They’re so stingy and greedy when it comes to helping people who need it the most.
Not sure of why the shelter has 4.0 rating and I don’t care. This review is for the one on Antwerp that has not opened yet, & since it hasn’t, why don’t you have any room for one woman who left an abusive situation, & has slept in her car? That was in butler co where I got no help, now back in nasty dirty Cincinnati, still no help!!! I was just told I could not get help bc the abuse for me happened last year!!! Am I too old to be helped? Is it bc I have no children? O, it’s bc I did not talk ignorant & uneducated. I’m a black woman in a black community that got no help. Maybe God saved me. U won’t be functioning long. Your community will tear u down
The staff is always friendly. The workout space is always clean. They recently renovated, and there is more space use floor mats. However, I do not trust the cleanliness of their pool and shower areas. I got an infection from the pool and I have not used it since. The showers have noticeable mold and probably should be cleaned more.
It has an indoor swimming pool, exercise room and workout classes i enjoy becoming a member of the ywca of greater Cincinnati
