The transformation of this housing project is remarkable. I just hope that there were aggressive efforts not to displace families who have called Watts "home" for decades. Gentrification is real! The nearby shopping is an attractive amenity and an economic engine for the area. A Nike store in Watts? Who would've thunk it!

Still has a rough around the edges kinda look to it. Possibly use a nice paint job too. The community on a whole is great, almost everyone knows everyone which could be a good and a bad thing. There are some serious O.G's here as well as knuckleheads so you gotta keep on ur toes especially if you come rollin thru on the Hood Life Tours. Years ago Menace II Society was filmed along Grape St & 99th here in Jordan Downs so it never stops poppin..

Having been born in the projects Jordan Downs 1963 at 2068 east 101st Grape street . Moving there in 1959 and out in 1969 being the baby bro having 5 brothers and 3 sisters that was the good times with fond memories in the JDs. If you resided in Watts at that time then you definitely knew the Bakers . No violence no gangs no drugs when all families was friendly and familiar with one another. Simply we just encouraged one another for betterment. I rode thru there last year and the upgrades looks amazing. I also noticed how they open up Century Bl and now it goes all the way to Alameda. That's good for the seniors and the community. Continued blessings prayers with the Lord favor to keep Watts moving forward in a positive direction.

Be careful don’t let the five star reviews fool you these folks will do you in and not give a second thought about it stay away if you have kids and just wanna have peace quiet and safety not for you the Jordan grape street projects where trilliano and 03 from you’ve seen the other comments violent gang movies where filmed here so once again unless you a gangster hood rat crackhead smoking ass person this will fit you for a home perfect if not you could find better Arizona way safer we’ll take you out here plenty of section 8 resources California way too violent

First time I came out here was in ‘94.. I was 5 at the time.. Uncles, Aunts and cousins stayed there.. for the next 10 years, it was an every other summer, coming to stay with family.. me being from south side chicago, trenches is the trenches, just on different coast with a few different ways, felt like another home… you’d always hear word of mouth things popping off while being there but never Visually seen anything too crazy
