My sister and I parked here for Tortuga 2024 all weekend, this is truly an amazing group. Firstly, I called in advance and they were extremely accommodating in allowing me to book parking in advance. Pastor Marie was very responsive & super helpful. The group working the parking lot all weekend was super cheerful & just a pleasure to be around. On our final day, there was a gentleman in the parking lot (I can’t remember his name, so bad with names I’m sorry) who was informing people who were departing that their bathrooms were open for us. This was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. On our way out, my sister asked that he pray with us for a safe drive back home (we’re from out of town). We prayed together & he wished us well. For context, Tortuga is a music festival notorious for good drinks, great food & an even better party. That being said, they could’ve easily been judgy and stuffy with us, as I know many other churches would have been. Our experience here was impactful in a such a positive way and I just wanted to share. If I’m ever in the area I would absolutely attend service. They made us feel like family & we will return every year. These are the kind of people you want to spend your money with as I just know they are the glue in their community. You are more welcome than anywhere else
Our family came to this area 3.5 years ago and did not have to go far to find a home at Church by the sea. This church is beyond welcoming, they are a ‘yes’ to anything this community needs. Their involvement in outside projects exceeds the capacity we have in volunteers but it never stops them from getting involved, rallying whoever they can and they come through in full force. Our personal experience has been so good I recommend it to anyone I know looking for a church family. The Pastor is such a good person and his love for all of us shines from the pulpit - he has an incredible sense of humor and brings light to a one hour sermon. His wife is an incredible leader, full of life, ready to serve, always listening to the needs of others and her smile, kindness and generosity is boundless. The people are warm, welcoming and even if you happen to be one of those that wants to be under the radar - you can be! But moreover, if you are looking for a place to participate, volunteer, and lead - this is an incredible find. Most of all they receive everyone with openness and genuineness. This is a Christ- centered church that welcomes all denominations and lifestyles and their slogan — ‘where the less than perfect are more than welcome’ is tried and true to the culture. Things to think about : church starts promptly at 10am. Parking can be tough when the snow birds are in town so get there early to find a space. There are two chapels and my favorite is not the main chapel but the side chapel on the right side of the main door. If you get there after 10, use the side chapel - not the main entrance so you can quietly come in and no one will notice 😉. There is a kids Sunday school and your child WILL make friends. Stay after church for a few minutes to fellowship in the courtyard- someone is always signed up to bring coffee and sweets and this is a great time to network or reconnect.
We have been a part of this church for >6 years. We followed the pastor (who married us) here after he left the prior church we were affiliated with. Let me just tell you, it was best decision ever. Not only is this church like a family to us but it is truly a place to make you feel like "the less than perfect are more than welcome" (the church motto). Our children have grown up here. We are centered around God, children of God but supporters of each other. No judgment. No drama. Just wonderful people praising our Lord together. Uplifting eachother. So happy to be part of this church.
Wonderful church , people friendly, lovely and accepting of everyone. The staff is stellar, inspirational and full of love, wisdom, kindness and compassion. They are also filled with the spirit and are very smart🙏🏻👍
