As a mom of three, a former preschool teacher, and someone with a degree in child development, I can confidently say this preschool is truly exceptional. The love they pour into each child is felt the moment you walk through the doors. Their teaching style is intentional, developmentally grounded, and incredibly nurturing. It’s clear that every activity, every interaction, and every moment is thoughtfully designed to help children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. My heart is so full seeing my child grow in such a loving, purposeful environment. We are beyond grateful! If you wanna leave with a smile and full heart every time you drop your child off this is the place. My son is so excited to go to school every day and comes home so happy. Hope every family can experience what we have a CTK.
We are absolutely thrilled with Christ the King Lutheran Preschool! Our daughter has blossomed so much over the last year, and we are grateful for the loving and nurturing environment the school provides. The teachers and staff are exceptional, and the play-based learning approach has been perfect for our child's growth and development. We are especially impressed with the new director, Ms. Laura, who has brought a new level of energy and love to the school. She is amazing, and her passion for early childhood education shines through in everything she does. We feel so lucky to have found this school, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a preschool that truly cares about their students and families. Thank you, Christ the King Lutheran Preschool, for all that you do!
We are so thankful for CTK. They loved, respected, and cared for family through life’s changes and challenges and for that we are forever grateful. As I reread my review I think wow, that’s a lot, but also when it comes to our children I would rather share more than not enough. Our top priority for preschool is a place where our kids are safe, loved, and enjoy going everyday. They run into class and talks about school on the weekends. All the teachers (but huge shout out to Ms. Aneela, Ms. Kim and Ms. Edie) are rays of sunshine putting play based learning first while supporting academic age appropriate growth. It is obvious that best practices are continuously reflected upon and adjusted based on the children’s needs. Coming from a corporate chain daycare in Oceanside we appreciate the personal connection and willingness to listen to our community and our needs making it feel like a family. There are so many new and exciting changes taking place since the new director Laura took over. When talking with her you can feel the passion she has for early childhood education and providing the best for our children. She has an open door policy and is always eager to hear input and adjust practices as appropriate! All the families we have spoken to are extremely happy with the new changes she has implemented and we are excited to see what growth will happen. Here’s to the early years at CTK that are full of friendships, mud kitchens, chicken coops, beautiful gardens, play based learning and everything else that is happening behind the scenes that ignites the passion for learning!
One star because I have to. What a disappointment this school became after Margo tragically passed away a few years ago. She had such a big heart for the children, and she would make it her mission to create such a warm and helpful environmental for each individual child and their specific needs. All I will say is that now it is not so much like that. I believe the director that took over did so more or less because she had to, and not because of any love for children or education. Educationally I would say they are below par compared to other similar priced options. Although it may be a cute & sweet school with an awesome playground (thanks Margo), kindergarten readiness is extremely important and they don't do much of that with the children it seemed. Again, nothing compared to some of the other preschool options with similar pricing. I'm sure many kids do just fine here, as my older child did great years ago. But I just wanted to put this information out there in case you are recently inquiring about preschool options in town. This was simply my personal experience. That is all.
