What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise Children's Village as an exceptional early childhood program with caring, experienced teachers, nutritious diverse meals, and a strong community feel. The center maintains low staff turnover, is NAEYC accredited, and employs evidence-based teaching practices that parents credit with fostering their children's development and love of learning.
Very disappointing experience with this daycare. When my child suffered a fracture during summer camp, the school did not notify me at all, and later they pushed the responsibility onto the child, saying that it was because the child didn’t tell the teachers. This is unacceptable. In addition, front desk staff repeatedly treated me unfairly. Even when I arrived earlier than other parents, they gave the pick-up cards to others first, leaving me last. When I raised my concern directly, the staff denied seeing me, even though we clearly made eye contact several times, and responded disrespectfully while looking at her phone. Parents deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect. Unfortunately, this daycare failed to provide that.
Our baby currently attends children’s village, since 15 mos, and we cannot speak more highly of a program in the Philly area. Not only do they have a dietary program that is filled with nutritious, culturally diverse foods, but the teachers there are like handing your child off to a second family. My daughter LOVES her teachers, they give us daily updates, and her curriculum is always changing and age progressive. The cost and flexibility of the hours are fantastic, but the best thing of all? Knowing that you can safely and loving use your Children’s Village community to foster growth, love, and independence.
This is an extraordinary Early childcare institution! Everyone in there genuinely cares about the kids! my daughter has been going to CV since she turned 3, and the past few years, her changes were crazy! We are heading to a private school after this, only because CV does not have K or above now! She will for sure miss the fun and extensive meals in CV too, from Mongolian lamb to curry braised beef or chicken, all sorts of veggies and more. She thrived in CV despite all her allergies. We can not thank Children’s village enough, for how much love they’ve given our little girl and would definitely recommend anyone in the city of Philadelphia to consider putting your name down!!
Our family has had a great experience at Children's Village, even during a pandemic! The staff is caring, nurturing and also remarkably professional. We transferred from another well regarded daycare in the city, and what struck us most about Children's Village was the incredible longevity of the team. Whereas we saw yearly turnover in teachers at our previous daycare, Children's Village has teachers that have been teaching there for decades! If you're looking for a very well run and reliable daycare, you will not be disappointed with Children's Village. As an added plus, the lunch program has really broadened our child's palate.
My whole family loves Children’s Village! I can’t say enough good things about them. Between my two children we attended children’s village for 7 years. The teachers are incredibly nurturing and caring. There is very little turnover. The staff really makes you feel a part of the children’s village family and the teachers foster a sense of community in the classroom. There is diversity in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, culture, and age. The staff fosters inclusion and acceptance. The kitchen is amazing and my children enjoyed culturally diverse, healthy food. Also, both of my children developed a love for learning at an early age and the education there is top notch. They consistently talk about missing their time there. On top of all that, the staff and teachers fight for positive early childhood education policies in local, state and national arenas. I wouldn’t consider sending my children anywhere else!
