What Parents Say
Children's Learning Center in High Ridge receives overwhelmingly positive feedback from most parents, who praise the caring staff, strong communication, and child development. However, one parent reported a significant negative experience with the new director, citing poor communication, lack of director presence, mishandling of behavioral concerns, and inappropriate comments about their child.
Hands down love this childcare center! My son has been enrolled for about a month now and he loves the staff, has learned social skills and so much more! Great communication on daily activities, food, etc. The director goes above and beyond and the staff is amazing to the children and parents. I could not be happier or ask for a better place for my son!
The care the teachers put into the children is everything I could hope for as a mom. They've accommodated to every worry, fear, and request I've made in the short time my 3-year-old has attended. We switched from an in-home daycare to here about 2 months ago, and we could not be happier with the level of care, social interaction, and education that my son is exposed to each day. Thank you, miss Jackie & miss Ashley (and the others), for making this transition so painless and making my baby feel so loved! :)
My boys love it here. It's always hard to send your children somewhere new but when we switched daycares about two years ago, they immediately made our boys feel at home. Julie was always flexible and put the kids first. Jackie recently took over and she is the absolute best. The pricing is reasonable, it's always clean, and the workers are consistent (no turnover). Sam is awesome and the boys love her. Each morning, our youngest runs in the doors to the ladies inside which is awesome to see whenever you have to leave your kids somewhere for the day. This place is great and the people who work here are even better!
Under the former director, things were fine. I enrolled my three year old there. To be clear, I am under no illusion that both of my children are "easy". They are not lamps that just sit in the corner. I never knew what my son ate, what he did, etc. my older son reported he just played on his tablet all day when he went there in summer. The former director met us, communicated with us, etc. She left for personal reasons. The new director...I met her once?....she was never there at drop off or pick up. She was not there at the Halloween trunk or treat. I have no idea what she looks like. I immediately pulled my son after the following: my son had received various 'behavior reports" but every time we went there, the employees brushed it off (and again, the director wasn't there to talk about anything). My son is not easy. He's a busy guy, super loving, but also super frustrated. The providers made it seem like not a big deal, so I felt it wasn't anything out of normal toddler behavior. I get a call on a Thursday, from the mysterious director, that my son has reached too many behavior complaints, is suspended for Friday, and has three behavior reports left before he is expelled. As a working parent, I immediately panicked. I called the center, and, who I presume is the director answered. She said he had too many behavior reports, other parents were pressuring her, and (most troubling) "the things that work with normal children dont work with your son." Imagine, being an hysterical parent and have the director, who is unqualified to make this designation tell you that your son is abnormal. I immediately took him from the center. He was not being cared for. He was being ostracized. The person that runs this center is not qualified, not connected to the community, and does not know how to handle children who don't behave like well trained pets. I know this because I have a master's degree in education. I taught adults who were told they "couldn't do" something because someone like the director of this center told them they couldnt do. I'm also the parent of an older, neurodivergent son. I advocate for him, and this place ain't it for him anymore. I submitted a formal complaint to the state because they treated my younger son so awfully. I put my son, the troublemaker, in a new center. Miraculously, there are zero behavior reports. The directors communicates with me daily. I know what he does daily. I know what he eats, creates, etc. send your child somewhere else I reported this place to the state for the conduct of the director.
My son went to this daycare for 5 years, we were so sad to leave them when he started kindergarten. There teachers are so amazing, Goldie and Julie are the best! They worked with me, and always made sure the kiddos had smiles on there faces! Best daycare around. I know people are scared of day cares but this one is a trusted one, your babies will be in good hands!
