Berkshire is a great preschool the teachers are great of course all schools are gonna have there pros and cons so ima list them all for you to give you my true raw honest experience & opinion. Pros: 1. Kids love it and learn a-lot 2. Teachers are very loving and caring 3. Definitely a welcoming space you get greeted all the time 4. They have the best janitor ever the kids love Mr. Derrick ❤️ 5. The teachers work with the students on separation anxiety (I have seen a-lot of cry babies open up to preschool after a few weeks for sure) 6. Kids get healthy meals and snacks everyday 7. Teachers tackle issues head on 8. They definitely help structure a routine with the kids that helps them be prepared for elementary school Cons: 1. No transportation for students only for children in foster care or dcyf 2. No consideration for parents that bring they kids to school on foot or by public transportation especially in bad weather conditions unless the state mandates no school 3. Home visits will get canceled last minute and has to be rescheduled at a inconvenient time or later date (sometimes for no real reason at all) 4. Home visits will sometimes have additional supervision and new employees shadowing & attending the visit last minute with no heads up 5. Home visits are mandatory in order for your kid to attend preschool here & they have to be in your home no zoom or conference calls can be options so if your BIG on privacy don't bother they will try to overstep their job titles and be in your business sometimes try not to take offense lol (you won't believe the parent stories I have heard about home visits) 6. Make sure after every appointment such as Physical, Dental & Vision along with Vaccination records that you get a report for the school nurse and give it to her directly because sometimes it can get lost with teachers and it is important so stay on top of it after every single appointment. Overall my nephew who attended this school is all I can speak about and give my feedback on his teacher was great she taught him how to tie his shoes, write his first and last name, how to trace letters and numbers he took a lot away from this school that will help him during the rest of his academic life in school. (Even although the school wanted the kids to learn through play which is fine but playing all the time is not gonna teach them what the teachers are trying to prepare them for transitioning into elementary school)
