Children'S Crossing

This YMCA is by far the oldest, dirtiest, and least functional y I’ve ever been in. The showers don’t get hot, the pool gets shut down nearly every week for a variety of issues, and when you swim you can see all the scuzz on the pool bottom, the day care room is dark and dirty. It’s also extremely expensive. No feel like either the prices they charge and their reluctance to offer discounts to low income users, they should at least find a way to heat the water and clean the place….

I’ve been really happy with my experience at the Barnstable YMCA! I have been going on a daily/weekly basis for the past year. The child watch service is fantastic — my kid loves it, and I can enjoy my workout or school work worry-free. It’s so COST EFFICIENT because the child watch is already built into my membership!!! The 2 staff members will watch my child for up to an hour and a half everyday. The gym equipment is top-notch, and the spacious atmosphere makes it a pleasure to train without feeling cramped. I notice all of the staff is quite friendly and easy to talk to, Chris; at the front desk is always a kind, bright smiling face. I also appreciate how judgment-free the environment is, making it a welcoming place for everyone. A special shoutout to Joshua, the trainer, who is incredibly knowledgeable and always offers helpful advice and exercises to improve my workouts. Overall, a great experience at the YMCA, and I highly recommend it! This is especially helpful for younger families who want exceptional care for their little ones in addition to having time for self- care as a parent or caregiver.

Rita at the desk is terrible. She’s rude, dismissive and disrespectful. The blocker rooms are dingy and only half functional. Gym is super outdated. Overall a terrible experience.

Extremely rude front desk . I recently moved to the Cape from Plymouth and was a member of the Y there for 6 yr and the Y in Easton for 12 yrs prior to that . I signed up today even thought the memebership rep was extremely rude and kept speaking to me in the most condescending manner and then she and her co worker made fun of someone who called to see if a class was cancelled . I was not even given a tour of the facility except for her pointing from behind the desk . The entire vibe was so negative . I did my work out left and called as soon as I got home and of course was sent to voice mail . I am in process of cancelling ( if i can get a response ) and actually want a refund . So disappointing and off brand for a Y

For those looking for a gym in the Cape Cod area, look elsewhere. More treadmills than a Barry's, the swim team takes over the limited weight equipment they do have, and the staff is either apathetic or rude.
