CAON has been a blessing for our family. Our son went here for 3 years and we plan to put our daughter here next year. Lauren runs a tight ship and all the staff and teachers are wonderful. We couldn’t ask for a better place to prepare our son for pre-K and life!
Staff were abusive. I went here in the early 2000’s if I remember correctly. I went here when I was about 4 (born in 1996). But yeah, when I was here staff were abusive. Yelled at us and told us off constantly . Poor management. I was pulled out. I am the product and what you get when you don’t understand or have enough research on, ASD, anxiety, or other mental health challenges in children. I now will have intensive trauma based therapy for the rest of my life. And none of the schools I went to will be obligated to pay for this, albeit they should be. Obviously they have great reviews now. But I’d believe change when I see it. But I probably won’t because my kids will NEVER enter a school if I have kids.
We have loved CAON from the moment we started in January 2020. Before moving there, my daughter had spent her first year at a much cheaper place where the teachers have hearts of gold, but they were stretched too thin for the toddler age rooms. CAON is middle of the road pricing and they take such good care of our children. I can tell my girls are learning and thriving. My 2.5 year old comes out skipping with joy telling me all about her teachers, friends, and the things they did that day. My one year old is having a harder time adjusting but they are patient with her and us as we navigate daycare with a baby born in isolation at the height of the pandemic. I also love that they handle the menu because planning snacks and lunch absolutely drained my energy. We took a break March 2020-July 2021 to keep the kids at home and I’m so happy to have my girls back there. We were thrilled to see that most of the teachers who had been there in Jan 2020 were still there also. I truly do not understand the negative reviews, though I do see most of them are a year or more old, so I wanted to share a more recent experience that I think reflects how joyful it has been for us. Yes, communication can lag, but never when it’s urgent. And I’ve found that to be an issue with anyone I talk to who has kids at a daycare center. These folks are stretched to the max caring for our children and wearing lots of hats, so I try to extend grace with email lag time and call if I really need something. They always answer.
We’ve been part of CAON for over 4 years with two kids from the infant room through Pre-K. Lauren and Taylor and all the teachers and staff have been amazing. My younger one looks forward to “school” at his toddler 2 class everyday. We moved from the area and then looked at some other schools but decided to stay because of the openness of their classrooms, nice shaded playground and all the extracurricular activities like music, recitals and performances, field trips to the library, pumpkin patch, berry patch, and summer water play, holiday activities like egg hunt and Halloween at the senior center.
We moved our child here last year after realizing our previous child care was struggling to provide. The move was the best thing we could have done for our child's growth, but also for our sanity. We highly recommend CAON to anyone that needs child care!
