What Parents Say
Child Haven is a Las Vegas-based residential facility with deeply divided reviews. Former residents from decades past report positive experiences with caring staff and structured environments, while recent reviews from current families raise serious concerns about communication barriers, staff conduct, and separation from parents.
This place was an absolute nightmare. The outings were fine, the food was okay, the bathroom didn’t even have a door in bigelow and the night stage were rude and the morning staff were also rude besides Ms.Rebecca. And yes I’m talking about you ms Shawna. This is Chloe Yonnie. And I don’t think I want to come back here AGAIN. also if Tierra and Sahriya still there tell em I said wassup.
I keep calling the hotline to speak to my children and check on their wellbeing during the appropriate hours of operation . No one has responded or is responding. I even had others call and no response has been made. How can I go about this? They are very young and I am just concerned after reading these reviews
They took my nephew here after saying NY brother and I didn't pass a background check to keep in our home. I've been calling to check on my nephew and no one ever answers the phone. My nephew doesn't belong in this place. Can someone help us!! They never answer the phone and when they do they hang up on you!!!!
I went here very currently because my legal guardian did not want me. Howard cottage member staff were alright unless you did "Something wrong" they would yell at you and tell you to get in your rooms. If you got into a fight you would have to go the juvie next door for a 24-48 hour hold when they did not say anything about that. They had some good outing's. The security of the place was bad. Many kids ran away from there including me but I learned.
My childhood ended in 2001 when I was seven years old. Metro police came and took me out of school to bring me to this terrible, frightening place. They never let my parents visit me, never let them speak to me on the phone.. they let me talk to my grandma one time. Very verbally abusive staff, especially the night shift. A mean old lady forced us to call her “grandma” and she was very rough and mean. Forced group activities like they literally made us all sit in this room and watch the movie Annie… you know, the movie about an orphan girl. We watched an orphan movie while we were in this place away from our families. What kind of sick joke… I was always scared and never knew what was going on with my family or my situation because they never let me talk to anyone. Nobody communicated. Nobody was there to ease me into the situation or counsel me to explain to me where I was or why I was there and what was going to happen next. I was a child. I was alone and afraid the entire time. I am now 30 years old and I have serious trauma from being in this place.
