Cclc - Clif Base Camp Child Care Center

We attended this preschool/ daycare for about 2 years. Under Ms. Lani and Ms. Shin’s direction, the program was exemplary and we loved it! Our children thrived and we received constant updates throughout the day and weekly learning updates. Unfortunately, a new director had to be hired after Ms. Lani began a new job. The new director, Ms. Elizabeth is unorganized, careless and rude. My child has fever seizures. I filled out the necessary medical forms in case he did have a fever while attending. The form said at anytime , if he developed a fever , the school needed to inform me. A fever is considered to be 100.4 degrees. I picked up my child around 4:45/5:00 for Elizabeth to inform me that my son had a fever of 104 degrees. I was highly upset and then I asked why she didn’t follow protocol and her response was, “Well I knew you’d be picking him up pretty soon.” The temperature was taken around 3:00. I should have been made aware at 3:00. My child could have had severe complications!!! She takes the children to the building around the corner without informing families or directs the teachers to do so . Another parent tried to pick up her child in the classroom she is assigned to. The child was no where to be found, the mother panicked and Elizabeth said , “Oh we were practicing in the auditorium.” As a parent, we would’ve liked to have a message informing us if our child is removed from the classroom, and definitely the building. These are just a couple of the many careless incidents that have occurred since Elizabeth has been the director. If you want quality care, this is not the place anymore.

Our family has been at Basecamp for 3 years and currently have two kids there. Basecamp is truly a magical place and the care and treatment our kids and us as parent receive there is unparalleled. I feel completely confident that not only are my children's needs being met, but that they are engaged, learning and loved everyday. The teachers and directors are very communicative both in person and through the Tadpoles app where we get to read about our kids day and see pictures and videos of them participating in their activities. We love having the structure and rigor of the Kindercare organization while feeling the personal, family touch of the community of teachers and other families. Basecamp is the gold standard for childcare and we absolutely love it.
