What Parents Say
Reviews are highly polarized. One parent praised staff member Kimberly Bourke for excellent support with their disabled daughter. However, multiple parents reported serious issues with management, including unresponsiveness, discriminatory treatment, and sudden program terminations, with several complainants citing racial bias and lack of due process.
Very happy with Kimberly Bourke who is my daughter’s support planner. She is smart, kind, supportive, caring and professional ! She always returns calls and messages regarding my disabled daughter.
I was deciding on to write a review or to not, they are not there to assist they have there attorney already present so it’s up to you to get one if you can afford one, legal aide they are pointless they all work together,Jeremy is fair to a degree but doesn’t care at all about your disability,I was accused of something I knew nothing about put could not prove otherwise so I was terminated,And the end of the day the waiting list is so long they find in and everything to terminate you even when you find a house in your income bracket it’s always a negative they all work together all of them but they use to have a few that would be fair and understandable but of course they are gone, remember Jeremy and Rita wood work together and there attorney is not a third party they are always going to be in there side they wouldn’t even let my advocate come in,I just pray that the program changes for the better have a great day.
2 out 5 my daughter is disabled and was approved and we had appoved documentation from the doctor. Chief of Housing (Mrs.Wood) never called me back after messages and emails. I can't even file a COMPLAINT!!!!!! for DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION not having any accommodation for live in aid information for people with disabilities on the county website. Guideline need to available to the public. Called Maryland HUD and the phone keeping hang up ( No Direct person to person), or Hud employees give wrong number. My daughter is upset that she might lose her voucher due to this behavior. VERY DISAPPOINTED, had to TRANSFER to different County, and still having PROBLEMS with HUD thats was transfered!!!!!!
If you want to keep your voucher do not come here worse mistake I’ve made coming here relocating for my family safety and to feel like I’m being punished for making a conscious decision for my kids until it was safe and for me to be told I should’ve remove them off my voucher but why would I do that if I’m still getting my 2kids for months at a time an on weekends holidays and etc no proof of when my kids left the home and came back just a put together conclusion to terminate me and my kids from the program I requested a meeting with them on the 14th of august they obviously had the letter type up and decision was already made on the 15th to terminate my voucher I’ve been on housing for 17yrs in Virginia never had an issue or violation until I Transferred over here I strongly advise people of color to please go somewhere else do not come here if you want to keep your voucher.
If you are a person of color, Go somewhere else and seek housing. You are judged as soon as they see the color of your skin. And don't trust their supervisors. They are working against you also. And if you do get housing from here, put your complaints in documentation and get a lawyer. You're going to need one.
