What Parents Say
Cavanaugh Children's Center has received polarizing reviews. Three parents praised the facility highly, citing excellent staff, detailed communication through an app, varied meals, and educational support. However, four parents reported serious concerns including inappropriate task assignments to young children, management rudeness, billing issues, strict health policies, and poor phone communication.
If I could give them no stars I would!!! If you want to send your kid to a childcare center where they have to do grown-up task for the adults and run all the errands for the adults because the adult teachers, there are too lazy to get off their butts and do it themselves so they make three and four-year-old to do the task for them and then they try to cover it up and hide it and then when your kid gets hurt there, don’t worry about that because they’re gonna have three different stories and then when your kid is alone he tells the truth, the real story and then they’re fast to get you out of there because they don’t want you there to expose what the teachers make the kids do so definitely would never recommend hate that place hate all the management hate all the teachers ridiculous would never take my kid ever again. I wouldn’t even let my dog go there!!!!
This use to be an awesome preschool, but unfortunately management has changed over the last few years and it’s gone downhill. The woman that runs it now is incredibly rude. They don’t even provide lunch every day of the week anymore, and expect parents to send sack lunches on days they don’t. My boys went to CCC collectively for 6 years. I never once had any issues with any of the teachers of previous management, and we absolutely loved the school. Unfortunately, when we enrolled my step daughter after management changed, every question we asked or concern we had was immediately taken as confrontational, as you can clearly see from her response below. As far as the misunderstanding about pickup. The day we signed the contract we told the teacher we could not be there before 3:30, and she told us we would need to pay for the after school hours as well, so we paid for the after school hours with our very first payment. I’m sorry the staff member that told us that and took that payment did not pass that along to you. We were asked ONE time not to bring things with peanuts, and inquired why it was different than fort smith public schools. We were never asked more than once. The late fee caught us off guard because of your odd billing cycle. We didn’t argue it. We paid the full remainder of the semester in full (in advance) when thar happened, so it wouldn’t happen again. In fact, Cavanaugh use to give a discount if you paid the full tuition in advance. We didn’t even ask for a discount, we just didn’t want you to nickel and dime us with fees.
They wouldn’t one of our kids to attend back without a doctors note when we have already given them a note stating she could return back to school, then we proceeded to have to get another note stating she was clear… AGAIN, then the lead manager proceeded to message us and tell us how rude we was when we told the front desk receptionist that we already gave them a doctors, note, the lead manager also threatened to remove our kid’s because we already told her she had a doctors note from the day before! I do not recommend this daycare unless you wanna pay an arm and a leg and get mistreated! Thanks!
We are so pleased with this facility! The staff are so great with our child and there is an app that all updates are posted on for each parent (meal time, potty breaks, learning activities, nap times, etc.) so you can keep up with your kid(s) throughout the day. You get a detailed lunch menu well in advance for each week. It's been a great variety!
I couldn't ask for a better school. Even with school out they made sure to help the students, even bringing my son a packet of work to do at home so he doesn't fall behind. This school and it's staff are amazing.
