Cataluna

My wife and I went out on a date for her birthday, and had a wonderful experience at Cataluna. The ambiance is gorgeous, the service was excellent, and most importantly the food was delicious, well executed, and memorable. We love that they enforce a dress code and enjoyed getting dressed up for the occasion. The menu is modern Mediterranean. Wagyu tataki was incredibly tender, great flavor and torched at the tableside. Tuna crisp was light and well balanced. The presentation of the whole branzino was shocking in a good way, and the spice blend on the fish mixed with the olives was just perfect. The snapper was a great portion size, flaky, juicy, light crust. That potato millefuille with caviar on top was an amazing side dish. My only complaint was that it came out lukewarm but not hot. I would order it every time though, it was still that good. We tried multiple signature cocktails and they were all tasty and very pretty, and some flavors were quite unique. We were planning to order dessert but they brought a complimentary birthday dessert which was very nice - the molten dulce de leche cake. Quite good. All in all, this was a big hit and we are looking forward to coming back soon.

Dom was our server and he was very attentive and knowledgeable about the entrees and gave us great recommendations for drinks as well! Our first time coming here - we ordered the beef tartare, yellowtail crudo, shawarma and the truffle pasta and diablo pasta. Everything was incredible. We absolutely loved Dom. Wonderful food wonderful service. Will be back!

Came for a family birthday dinner this place is so beautiful, a great date night spot and after I believe 9/10 the DJ plays music. The brussle sprouts were good, the Cesar salad was also good and my pasta was good. I tried the lobster pasta that was delicious !!! The hummus is also really great ! I enjoyed thebportion sizes as well very hearty. I'd definitely come back just for the cocktails they were gorgeous and they have mocktail options for the non alcoholic drinkers.

Last night we had a great time at Cataluna JAX. Reservation was at 6 pm and we were seated right away. The cleanliness and luxurious interior was stunning and by far the most glamorous we’ve been to in Jacksonville. The lighting and ceilings showed no filth, or dust which shows how much the owners pay attention to details. We were a party of 5 and they honored our request for a booth. John (gionne) was a fantastic waiter. I was celebrating my birthday. I loved all of the food. Everything was absolutely delicious and the chef did an amazing job. I loved that the menu was eclectic with many options. We had Ceasar and burratta caprese salads that were excellent. Flatbread, Mezza board and an order of olives and wagyu tatatki - this was sooo melt in your mouth delicious. For main dishes ribeye and filet with Brussel sprouts, potatoes, truffle fries and asparagus. The potatoes are a must and the Brussel sprouts were a big hit too. We opted for the recommended drink with champagne foam which was also perfect! It all ended with a birthday dessert which I enjoyed very much. The price is what you would expect for an upscale dining experience. My only small suggestion/complaint is we all would have liked to have seen a dessert menu and been allowed to select a dessert. I saw pictures of a tiramisu that I would have liked to try. I’ve been keto dieting so was really saving up for some dessert splurge and coffee but none was offered. They just brought me a dessert with 5 spoons with a sparkler and never offered anything to anyone else. The dessert was free - but I’d rather pay for a dessert of my choice or be given the option. We will be back so many more things I’d like to try. For the record we brought all leftovers home with plenty to go boxes available. Also had no issue with music being to loud it was just right. Sorry no pictures of food, we were too busy eating, next time! 😊😋

I absolutely love this restaurant! It’s so beautiful, the food is delicious, and the vibes are unmatched. I felt like I had been transported to Miami! The restaurant has an upscale, sexy, Roaring 20s glam aesthetic. Everything was perfect– the service was top notch, the food was tasty, and the atmosphere is intriguing. At 10:30pm it turns into a night club where there’s a dj, go-go dancers, and sparklers. I will definitely return!
