Carousel Early Learning Centers

We couldn't last a month in this daycare. Unfortunately the tone these teachers spoke to the kids wasn't something we felt comfortable with. It felt like our son feared his teachers with everything he did in the classroom. One day we came to pick him up and we noticed 2 year olds sitting on the side of the playground on milk crates while watching their friends play. When we asked about this we were told they were in timeout and this was something they regularly did if a kid didn't listen. This is not a form of discipline we wanted for our child and took him out very soon after. In another instance we showed up early and heard one of his teacher shouting in the room at the kids. We raised both of these instances to Dawn and her response to us was that not every daycare fits for every family and that timeouts was just something they did when kids don't listen and that she couldn't play back the video in the classroom to find out which teacher shouted because the videos do not capture audio. Our son never wanted to go back and refused to put on his clothes every day, at pick up he would consistently tell us he didn't want to go back. He has since then started in a new daycare and was more comfortable there after a week than he was after 3 weeks at Carousel. Everything about this daycare is a memory I'd like to forget and am relieved it is behind us.

Lasted 3 days. Cannot recommend for under-2s. Reviews and feedbacks I got from other parents were raving for pre-k age, and yes, my 3.5 yo son was doing fine for 3 days. But we were terribly deceived for my 1.5yo because in our tour no one mentioned that under 2s don’t get to play in the playground, nor do they get to walk outside (only in stroller), nor do they have a curriculum- no art, no reading books, no music, no nothing, for this precious age group. Nor was the director receptive to changing the curriculum (like add an art activity, or circle time, or move my son to the older class). Sadly disappointed. If considering a daycare, do ask for a detailed curriculum or ‘what books will they be reading this week’ and ‘what will the art projects be’.

I am so impressed with this place. My kids are in the pre-k program and love coming here. They are consistently immersed in stimulation and are learning new things every day. Comparatively this center is very affordable especially if you have more then one child. I love that breakfast and lunch is provided but you have the option to send in food.The staff has also been extremely accommodating to our working schedules and need for flexibility. I would highly recommend this center.

Love this school! My child learns so much here and the teachers really seem to care about the kids as individuals and do a fantastic job. My child has food allergies and Carousel does a GREAT job handling this.
