Capslo Boys & Girls Club Head Start

They are open from 7am-6pm which is nice. Pretty fun field trips on Fridays for elementary kids—Boomers & Birch aquarium to name a couple. Jacob is really nice & some of the other staff is friendly as well. Unfortunately, the staff member that the parents have to interact with to make payments is very socially awkward and mean looking. She scares my son. I never have imagined someone like that in a position that requires interaction with parent s and kids all day. My son says when he says hi to her every morning she either rolls her eyes or ignores him and doesn’t say anything. When I make a payment in her office she doesn’t say hello, writes me a receipt and gets up and walks out of the office without saying anything. I sit there not knowing if we were done because it’s so weird. The food provided is really bad, my son is not a picky eater at all but he refuses to eat the lunch 4 out of 5 days.

My grandson attends the boys and girls club everyday and looks forward to it! Its a safe, friendly and comfortable environment. The program really helps build good character and great social skills. The staff members are very caring. Mr. Jacob and Ms. J'Nesse are always working hard to look out for what's best for the students!

Years ago, when I was here I got in trouble for the dumbest thing. I was stomping my foot on the ground because of my ADHD and I got in trouble for "Killing Ants". I don't know if things have changed but I'm going to warn parents just in case

My daughter has been going to boys and girls club in Poway since her 1st day at school... She's almost 7 years old now and will be in 2nd grade in August. The staff is always friendly and willing to work with you. My daughter enjoys playing with her friends there and having fun doing outdoor activities, indoor computer lab, art, reading and different parties through out the year. I'm a single parent working full time and this location is very convenient since I work in Poway close by.

When your job consist of working with the public / parents on an everyday basis you have to maintain a pleasant and open disposition about yourself. It is utterly ridiculous that a person that looks so mean and plays that part very well would be put in the position by anyone to interact with the public at this facility. At any given moment during any interactment with this women in order for her to speak I had to speak first. When she did speak she didn’t look at me while talking to me or smile at the least bit. Many days I would not speak just to see if she would initiate any type of communication to the parent that was giving their money to her. Nope!!!!!! Not to my surprise “NOT A WORD”!! That made me feel really uncomfortable and I started questioning the way this place functions if ANYONE thought that it was okay to place this “mean mute” that has ZERO people skills in the parents faces to take their money!! That persons name is “ JNESSE”......!!! The person that needs to be at the forefront of this facility is Jacob, he has always greated me with a smile, and made me feel wanted walking in the doors. I am hoping that talking to Jacob will make a difference and they will change the FACE of the Boys and Girls Club that receives payment. I really believe that Jacob received my message and was open to hearing me out!! Only time will tell, I will be observing!!!
