Capital City Kids Daycare

When I first brought my children here in 2017 I gave them the benefit of the doubt taken that this place was a high recommendation from another child care giver I currently know. When my children started here they were actually at a second location they used to have off of east Howard lane. I never had problems with them at this location until they reduced in the number of children and had to down size to the only location left off of Dessau road. From the beginning the owners have always been around the corner and did not socialize much whenever I saw them not to mention mostly never greeting you in the morning. The care givers (teachers) were the same way at times giving you a feeling that they were not happy to be there to put up with your child, however this did not apply to certain teachers who did at times seem to try and show at least some kind of consideration towards your child. Many times myself and my family members that help me pick up my children witnessed how ugly just some of these caregivers talked to the children and treated them. After reading a couple of reviews on this site I also have to say that yes they will not administer any type of medication to your child and will let them remain with fever until you pick them up. Most daycares will give you a call after 3 loose stool diapers accompanied with fever, but here they are calling you after just 2 with no fever. They find any and every little thing to complain about so that they don’t have to provide care to your child. I think everyone that works here became realistically unhappy with their job once they downgraded to the one small location they have left right next to a public storage with very little parking space. I’ll end this review with a last but not least they will dismiss your child without a 24 hour notice. All this and yet the owner stated to me that he “cared about the negativity impact on his business”. Do the math; think again before even considering.

I love this daycare so much! I wasn’t really fond on daycares for my kids because I would see so many bad things about it, but this daycare changed that for me. My daughter 2 years old right now loves her teacher! (Ms. Francis) she always made her feel comfortable. I also take my son there as well and he’s 2 months at the moment. They are always so nice and greet us at the door since now we have to drop them off from there because of COVID. Even though both my kids were there for a short period of time, I loved it knowing that they were safe and cared for. I loved the fact that they have all the kids in separate rooms by age, that was one of my concerns. For my newborn his teacher would write me a paper with how he’s was feeling that day, how many bottles he drank, how many wet and pooped diapers he had, and I loved that. They even got my kids Christmas gifts! Some nice clothes for my son, a coloring book and a bear for my daughter. They also made them custom blankets with their names on them!! I recommend this daycare to my sister as well who recently has her daughter a month ago. When I return to Austin again there is no doubt in my mind that I will be taking my kids here! Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of my kids and loving them as your own. Forever grateful.

My friends son has been with this daycare for a while and recently had an issue with the teacher not allowing her child to use the restroom so the child had an accident and did not bother notifying the parent or changing the childs clothes, but allowed the child to sit it its own urine. The daycare discontinued her childcare the next day with less than 24 hrs of notice. My friend and I will NEVER recommend this poor choice of a daycare to anyone. Treating the children and parents poorly is a disgrace!!

If I could give a zero I would. After calling this daycare for several weeks I still don’t know if there is a spot available for my child. Each time I called I was told I had to talk to the owner and given a time he would be there each time I call back during that time he was on an errand in the bath room or just not there. I finally call leave my info to be called back first thing in the morning when the owner arrives still nothing. At this point I wouldn’t leave my pet rat in their care. Very unprofessional and glad I dodge a bullet doesn’t seem to care much about new families I would hate to see how they treat current families. Do your self a favor don’t even waste your time go else where.

The teachers at this daycare love their kids and will do anything they can for them. The director truly cares about the families and has gone out of her way to help when we have needed it. I am so grateful for the year and a half that my kids were loved by this staff. Thank you for helping to raise my children, it takes a village!
