What Parents Say
These reviews are not for the daycare program but rather for the YMCA facility overall. Reviewers praise the modern facility, diverse programs, and friendly staff. The facility is described as clean, well-maintained, and welcoming to the community.
Even though this YMCA has 20,000 members on an island of 40,000 it never feels too crowded and the positive peer pressure to work out is tremendous, makes me stick with my schedule and push through each move. Everyone on our island goes to the Y, people of every age and background! World-class equipment and facilities, super talented and kind staff, convenient schedules and wide variety of classes and programs
This place is amazing. A community center and fitness center all in one package. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is clean, and the users are wonderful. We love the pool for lap swimming and the exercise facilities. Many love the plethora of programs.
Locker rooms are dirty. Not sure when or how they are being cleaned but the sauna is a festering of germs. I've gone in there and there is some sort of thing on the floor that's there sometimes and other times it's not it almost looks like one of those jelly nipple covers but it's not a nipple cover it's possibly like some sort of fungus? I recently brought my baby went into the community room locker room every single changing table was filthy and I'm not talking about like wipe it off with a Clorox wipe I'm talking about Brown crusty stains that you can tell I've been there a lonnggg time or white paint droplets that easily chip off if you scratch at them & the baby will do that. They even had an adult size changing table for handicapped that one was the most disgusting of all. I had to change my baby in my arms standing up because I wouldn't even put my dog on that table. Also I guess it's been months of that air quality because I see a review from 4 months ago talking about the humidity levels they still have dehumidifiers in the locker rooms which take up a lot of space and make you wonder how safe it is to be breathing that air??
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m so grateful for our local YMCA — it’s truly a special place! From the warm, welcoming front desk team (who always greet you by name and I especially love those daily motivational messages), to the personal trainers who genuinely care about your health and well-being, to the leadership that sets the tone with vision and heart — you can feel their passion and commitment everywhere you go. This YMCA is the real deal. It’s inspiring to see how much it’s grown and how deeply it continues to invest in the well-being of our community. Thank you for creating such a positive, uplifting environment! The new EGYM is an amazing addition — a smart, adaptive fitness system that automatically adjusts to your height, weight, and strength for a complete full-body workout in just 22 minutes. I tried it last night, got my band, and can’t wait to go back this morning! It’s a total game-changer and I’m excited to make it part of my regular routine. A huge thank-you to Erina McWilliam-Lopez, Executive Director, the Board of Trustees and Mr. MacLeod for your leadership and vision — and to every single staff member at the Y for making it such a welcoming and encouraging space. This YMCA has truly made a difference in my life, and I’m so appreciative of all that you do!
My daughter had very high expectations of cheer camp and you met them! She loved the personal attention, the performance at the end, the free play time and the skills she learned. Time at the splash pad was fun (even though it seemed cold to me) and her only complaint was that she wished they swam in the pool more.
