Our daughter attended this daycare for just under a year, and our family was deeply disappointed by how our experience unfolded, especially after previously sending our son here for three years with no concerns. While his time in the older classrooms was positive, our daughter’s experience in the toddler room was very different. During the first six months, we had no issues and felt confident in the care she received. However, in the second half of the year, her classroom went through six different teachers/aids, signaling a serious problem with turnover, attrition, and consistency. The most recent teacher appeared unprofessional. She discussed individual student concerns openly in front of other parents and often spoke about children in a negative or deficit-focused way. The center was aware of our daughter’s trauma history and had agreed to partner with us if any behavioral challenges arose. Like many toddlers, she occasionally displayed age-typical behaviors such as biting when upset. Her earlier teachers, and her occupational and speech therapists through Help Me Grow, consistently reassured us that her behavior was mild, infrequent, and typical for her age. For more than two months, we received no updates or concerns until one day we were suddenly told she had a “rough day” and bit another child. When we asked for more information, none was provided. Shortly after, we were informed that another family, who had multiple children enrolled, requested that our daughter be expelled or they would withdraw from the program. The administration told us that from a business standpoint, they could not afford to lose that family’s tuition and would therefore be removing our daughter. We were stunned. We had received no documentation of the issue and were never provided the opportunity to collaborate with the center on a behavior plan to address any of their concerns. We were shocked that a faith-based institution that promotes values of care and inclusion would handle the situation with such insensitivity. When we requested documentation (incident reports, her intake paperwork referencing her trauma background, and a formal expulsion notice), we were initially told it would be provided, but our follow-up calls and messages were ignored, and we were blocked from the app the center uses to communicate with parents. The lack of transparency and accountability was deeply concerning and unprofessional. While we cannot say for certain what motivated these decisions, it was difficult to ignore the possibility of bias. Our daughter was the only child of color in her class, and the dismissive tone and lack of compassion we experienced left us questioning whether she was treated equitably. We hope the center reflects seriously on its leadership, teacher training, and communication practices, particularly around supporting diverse families and children with different needs. No family should have to experience what we did.

I started my daughter here a little over a year ago. She was very shy, cried whenever I dropped her off, very stand-offish of people and wouldn't look at anyone who was not me or my husband. After a month of her going a few days a week, she blossomed. She became more confident, playing with other kids, her speech improved, her confidence improved and she turned into a social butterfly. The staff and program are amazing and centered around helping the kids thrive. Every staff member I have came in contact with has been incredibly friendly, understanding, helpful, passionate and compassionate. The price is good compared to most others I have looked at in the area. I would 100% recommend to someone who is looking for a daycare or child care.

My son loved this daycare. I had to stop sending him there due to the pandemic but we were treated so well and it was very plain to see how much the staff loved kids. My son's behavior and knowledge both improved greatly during his year at the daycare. I cannot thank the staff enough for being so caring and compassionate.
