Finding the right preschool for our family was challenging. We wanted our children to learn through play - to discover more about the world around them in meaningful out-of-the-box ways - not through sitting at a desk or worksheets. We want(ed) them to be taught respectful conflict resolution skills, responsibility and self-expression. I thought that I would need to sacrifice these standards when I went back to work because so many preschools we visited seemed more like elementary school than true developmentally-based preschools. My work schedule was increasing as our children got older so I needed flexible care- some long days, some short days, some weeks different than others. Campbell Child Development Center met and exceeded our expectations. Every time I popped in (they have an open-door policy), my children were fully engaged in creative play. When my children graduated from CCDC 3 years later, we walked away with a 2-inch portfolio of their developmental progress since their arrival - literally a scrapbook of their growth on every level. The principles, language and skills that they taught our family are still used every day in our home. Our children still ask to go back and visit (now 8 and 10 years old) and we remain close with many of the families, teachers and staff. Do yourself a favor and take a tour of the preschool. Be prepared to be impressed.

I have been more and more impressed with Campbell CDC in the year that my children have been there. Working in education, I have seen literally hundreds of preschools and there are very few that I would personally want my children to attend. My boys were cared for and nurtured in a way that appreciated them and allowed them to continue to grow and develop. They balance learning and play - mostly learning through play and my boys have thrived. As a parent, they have supported me and given me good feedback to help me grow.
