What Parents Say
Calvary Church Child Development Center receives mixed reviews. Five parents praised the staff, curriculum, faith-based environment, facilities, and their children's academic progress and happiness. However, three parents raised concerns about non-refundable fees, leadership decisions regarding vaccine mandates that closed classrooms with short notice, and limited academic focus in younger classrooms.
We registered our child earlier this year to attend Calvary in August. In addition to the registration fee, we were asked to pay over $800 in early tuition. Unfortunately, we have to move and can no longer attend due to the distance. We were told that the $800+ is non-refundable — which is shocking. I’ve never seen a daycare or preschool keep such a large, non-refundable payment so far in advance. It’s completely unreasonable! Very disappointing!!!
Both of my children have attended Calvary. I cannot say enough good things about the teachers and the staff. The environment and curriculum are fantastic. My daughter was so well prepared for kindergarten based on her time at CCDC. I know that sometimes administration makes decisions I dont always agree with but I think that happens everywhere - COVID was also smack dab in the middle of our time here and things were handled the best they could have been. My children have always had a fantastic experience and loved their teachers and classmates. I recommend the CCDC to anyone looking for a faith-based and education focused child care setting.
Overall, I've been very happy with Calvary. My daughter is moving to a different daycare only because my husband and I are expecting another child and we will need childcare starting for the second baby soon.(Calvary doesn't take babies under 6 months and sadly I will have to go back to work soon.) She really loves going to school and is happy every day when I drop her off. The only thing about drop off and pick up is that just because Calvary is so big it can take some time to drop off and pick up your child. I have seen her blossom this year at Calvary and I am saddened to move. It is a great place and I feel like they have lots of activities for the kids even as young as 1! I would definitely recommend this daycare to anyone looking. I always feel very safe dropping off my daughter here too.
My daughter joined CCDC 3 years ago and has since transitioned to elementary school and the things she learned from her first and 2nd year there about faith and her walk with Christ from Calvary still hold dear to her heart til this day. Can’t thank Calvary enough!
I love the teachers at Calvary, but unfortunately the “leadership” team doesn’t care about the teachers or our kids. It is a tragedy. They gave my husband and I 10 days notice they were closing our 14 month olds classroom and we had to find an alternative. This was due to a poorly timed/communicated vaccine mandate of the staff. School started Aug. Mandate was put in place Sept and they closed classes in Oct. Both of my sons teachers were vaccinated but they closed his classroom. Calvary used to be the best, but that’s because of the teachers and their care. The Calvary today is not what it used to be and I don’t see it changing anytime soon. The problem is you can’t count on them anymore. There is no security with this daycare. They call themselves a Christian ministry yet don’t act it at all.
