What Parents Say
Burbee Place is a smaller, intimate daycare center with consistently excellent reviews from long-term families. Parents praise the caring, attentive staff, child development outcomes, and family-like atmosphere. The facility is noted as affordable with healthy meals, arts and crafts activities, and outdoor time.
We love Burbee Place! My kids are thriving cognitively and emotionally! They love their teachers (especially Ms. Josie and Ms. Annie) and are constantly bringing home crafts and new songs to sing ! I love the slip that tells what and how much they ate and what activities they did! Affordable and in a great location!
We landed at Burbee after touring some of the bigger daycares in the area (the pretty on paper, highly rated and recommended) and realized they were so chaotic, our daughter wouldn’t even let us set her down to explore. We did tons of research to find a smaller environment daycare and came across burbee. There isn’t a ton of info online /higher volume of reviews because it’s a smaller program and naturally has less kids pass through, but that tighter knit environment was perfect for us and I recommend giving them a visit! Our 3yo came from a home daycare and this was a nice in between, smaller number of kids, lots of arts and crafts and as much outdoor time as weather allows, learning a ton as well. Healthy meals and snacks are a plus. Her class have formed really sweet little friendships and all hug on their way out the door each day. She’s now much more comfortable and happy at school!
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Disappointed is an understatement. My daughter, who is not yet four, had never been in daycare before and struggled with the adjustment. After about a week of attending for only a few hours each day, she was involved in an incident on the playground where she hit another child over a ball. I was called immediately and informed that we were no longer welcome to return. While I do not condone aggressive behavior, and I agree that hitting requires corrective action, expelling a young child after a single incident, without warning or a history of similar behavior, is completely unreasonable. If every child who hit another was expelled, there would be no children left in daycare. Toddlers are still learning to process their emotions and navigate social interactions, and they will inevitably make mistakes. Rather than showing understanding and working with us to address this issue, Burbee Place chose the extreme option of expulsion. It became clear that we were singled out and treated unfairly, though the reason for this remains unclear. I can’t help but feel we were discriminated against in some way. This daycare is not equipped to handle the natural challenges of early childhood development, nor are they willing to support families in addressing common behavioral concerns. I would not recommend Burbee Place to any parent who values a nurturing and supportive environment for their child.
We have been sending our kids to Burbee Place for the last 4-5 years. Both of our boys love going each day and have had so many positive experiences. The staff is attentive and I know my kids are truly loved and well taken care of there. It doesn’t hurt that it is affordable which is important for our family. I definitely recommend this daycare.
My 2 daughters have done really well with their stay at Burbee Place. We have been going there for almost 5 years between the 2 of them. The staff has always been so helpful and is always willing to work with me and my girls. I have always enjoyed the artwork sent home. We have had a couple bumps in the road recently but the director was super helpful and we all got back on track
