This place is a hidden gem. They have rotating art shows and exhibits. This is a great place to go see some really great artwork, as well as the museum-quality pieces they have on display. The staff there keep it impeccably clean. They are always warm, friendly, welcoming, and kind.
We had a baby shower there, it was amazing! The kitchen, the room and bathrooms were ready and cleaned. Which made our time there seamless. Definitely would recommend as they were very accommodating to our needs.
The staff are very pleasant. There is a nice little African American Museum with cool artifacts and memorabilia. A hidden gem!
Loved this museum! Had the pleasure of being on a guided tour by Ralph Hunter himself. The collection there is awe inspiring can't wait to see what Whoopie Goldberg donated to this wonderful place!
This organization provides so many services to the community. It houses the African American Heritage Museum, which I have provided a review of. The director of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, Mr. Quentin McClendon, opens the Community Center for senior citizen activities, provides transportation for the residents, has child and youth afterschool and mentoring programs, exercise programs, and so very much more. He has special events, such as Wellness Fairs, Thanksgiving Dinner for families, school supplies for the youth, Family Fun Days, etc. Due to COVID-19, some services are scaled back, yet they still manage to feed the community to all who come on the food-giveaway days. What a wonderful asset to Newtonville, NJ. Thank you, Mr. McClendon and your staff for all you do to help the entire community. My hat is off to you. My prayers are with you.
