Our son is 4 now and has been attending Brookside since he was 1. It is a wonderful feeling as a parent to be able to drop your child off at school and not have to worry about their well-being or safety. Brookside is a very clean, safe, and loving environment. The teachers communicate with you daily about your child's activities. They are always doing something fun and educational. Our son will be entering their pre-k program in August and already he is recognizing sight words, writing, can name the planets in order and tell you about each one. He is learning addition and subtraction. It is an endless list of things he has learned at Brookside. More importantly our son LOVES going to school and loves his teachers. He has asked us to bring his teachers on vacation with us because he loves them so much. I highly recommend this school and will be very sad when our son leaves for first grade.
I was extremely surprised to read the other reviews -- our experience with Brookside has been outstanding. Our two children have attended from "Sophomore" (age 3) through "Senior" (pre-k), including summers. The staff welcomed me into the classroom whenever my schedule permitted, and clearly understood my both of my kids, whenever I discussed their educational AND social development with them. My 2 kids (one girl, one boy) have almost completely opposite learning styles. The staff was able to reach each and encourage each of them to excel; preparing them well beyond a standard pre-k program. Most importantly, my kids love it there. My daughter still writes noted to her "Senior" teachers, and my son is annoyed if I pick him up too early and he misses playtime with his friends. For all the daycare/schools in the area, We have found Brookside to have the by FAR the best value for the quality of teachers and staff.
I keep my son at Brookside Academy and we could not be happier. He is so excited to go to school each day (he's 22 months old) and his teachers are so wonderful with him. They are caring and attentive and exactly what we needed and wanted in a daycare.
My team and myself were eating lunch today at cicis and saw some of the brookside kids eating. The teacher that was with them wasnt what I would consider a good teacher. He was very rude to some of the children. I watched as he made one little boy wait until he gave everyone else pizza and came to him last even though he was second in seating to where the teacher started. The teacher is a bald headed African American gentleman. He gave all the African American kids food before giving the caucasian child anything. I know this is going to throw the race card to those who love drama but that is not my intention. My intention is to let people know that there is an issue with prejudiced teachers.
