Brightside Academy Early Care & Education

My son was in this daycare for a littler over a year. I recently withdrew from the daycare due to a career opportunity out of the Philadelphia area. My son enjoyed the school and was very comfortable with the teachers. I didn’t have that concern of “who is around my child”. Every morning the teachers and director greeted us, he would happily run and hug them soon as he stepped foot in the school. What I liked most was that my son was around children who looked like him. The daycares in the county, didn’t have many kids who looked like him. Ms Queenie and Ms Brown made the transition easier for us once there were some internal changes within the facility. I’m new to the world of parenting, and his former teacher and director informed me IEP’s and how beneficial those resources are to children. My son’s speech has progressed greatly due to the care of the employees here. The older kids adored my son and gave him hugs during pick up, they even knew his name! It felt like a family here. This school had the best cultural value than any other school I had him in. The one thing that could be improved, I believe would be the paper daily sheets, which tracked the child’s daily progress. I would prefer digital daily sheets available through applications accessible by mobile device. Thank you Brightside!

I have had a good experience with Brightside in the last 3-4 years. I had 3 children enrolled. 1 has since graduated (he’s in first grade now). If you have a problem they best way to handle it is to talk to them, they are able to come up with helpful solutions. There has been a big change in staffing. The current staff are considerate and seem genuinely interested in the children. I have a toddler and 5 year old in Brightside currently and both enjoy going to school everyday. I gave 4 stars because they have 1 day off every month for professional development which is awesome, however, it can prove difficult for working parents. Just remember this is not day care it’s more like school. I wish the children who pay for aftercare was able to attend even on the professional development days but I understand and appreciate that they have them so the teachers are constantly growing in their profession

The two new ladies at the front are great. I know the directors name is miss brown but the other light skinned lady with the green eyes is amazing. Her name may be miss queen im not sure. They work well together but miss queen said she is only there for a little bit to help. Keep this duo because this is the best that this center has been. It's a breath of fresh air to see leaders who care about their center. The past director was good but there is nothing like those two directors. Go ladies 😊

Worst dirtiest daycare ever my step son went here and when he had days he threw up sick they never called anyone to come pick him up they allowed him to enroll without birth certificate. If it wasn’t for me he would of never been at the doctors or dentist but that’s another story for another day. They also had an on going court order and the daycare owner received papers and still allowed outsiders that wasn’t on pick up list or listed on court order finesse her and still went against court order . My mom in law tried to explain to the daycare owner this horrible situation we been going through for 5years and she shut her down so now that my mother in law left a truthful bad review the owner finally want to listen about the situation even though my son doesn’t go there anymore. Any way dirty daycare don’t trust the owner she calls the other parties and try’s to talk crap because you care which is weird the teachers say the same about the owner as well that’s why they always hiring losing teachers lol but don’t send your kids here!

Hello Brightside Past and Present Families, I am writing this review due to a deformation of character due to a Family's personal issues that they had going on. I have spoken with the person who made the review and she apologized once I explained that what she was told has never taken place and to let her know that her grandson have been gone since the end of May or beginning of June 2025 and that I was only allowed to follow what the court documents stated nothing more and nothing less. I asked her why she didn't call me and this could have been cleared months ago and she said at the time this is how she felt which don't make sense because her grandson has been gone for over 90 days and she is just writing a review 4 days ago. This location offers Head Start and Prek Counts programs for children ages 3-5 these are free programs for families. Please don't go off of what other people say go check the location out for yourself.
