Brightside Academy is a great place for children ages 6weeks to 12 years old! I have 5 children that attend and they are always happy to see their friends and especially excited to see the “Heart” of the Brightside Mckean location, MS. RITA! All of my children have a relationship with her but my 2 year old is in her class. I just love and appreciate her kind, caring and thoughtful spirit. Special mention for Ms.Zah in the infant room that cares for my newest blessing! & Ms. Ny who often works with my 3 & 4 year old but also has a very good relationship with all of my children. She is such a great educator and person. AND Thank you to all the staff. I appreciate you guys.

This place used to be a warm and welcoming place for every child and parent. After being with this company for over thirteen years, it's rather a shame that my first ever review for this place is not a good one. All the good teachers have left for a better future, some of them not by their choice, rather because they were treated unfairly. The center is always facing one problem or the other, and they are so unstaffed that it has come to a point where they are turning away parent from dropping off their kids, yet they are making you pay for the service they are not rendering. Despite the short of staff they are still taking enrolment. It is really frustrating for a parent to come in, only to be locked outside because they have reach their ratio, without any previous warning. They are so inconsiderate. It's almost as if they actually don't care if you have to lose your job or any other stuff you have going on. Your kids will be hurt and sometimes no one will have the decency of letting you know until you find out and ask, and sometimes you will still not find out what exactly happened. We have tried to get them to do something about it, but to no avail. The worse part of it is that, the corporate office is not doing anything about it. It has come to a point where they are not even answering the phone. I guess all they care about is the money they are making, rather than providing the kids with the quality service they claim to be offering. Please if there is any parent out there with the intention of enrolling their kids, please do yourself and your child a favor, look for a better place for this place is not worth the problems and headaches you'll be going through. Trust me, I've been through it for far too long, and the only reason why I keep sucking it up is that they have 2 to 3 good teachers available, but you never know if that person will be your child's teacher or not since it's only a small number of them. I'm sure they might be gone soon too.
Friendly staff always feel welcomed Ms Rita is great with the children and my son absolutely loves her so that makes me even more happy !
This place is terrible and under staffed.... i got a call saying that another child had pulled my child braid from her scalp... the director was in the classroom with her at the time... i asked what happened she said the child just pulled her hair while they was playing but ended up saying the child had behavioral problems.. i asked her what time did this happened she said 8:25 am.. but i didn’t get a call until 9:05 so i asked her why did she wait so long to call me she replied “i know how you can get, and i wanted to wait until her teacher got here”. Of where upset and asking questions she felt as though my husband was too upset and said she was calling the cops but he was already on the phone with the cops... she told the cops that my children was no longer welcomed as if we was gonna bring them back
