Bright Horizons at Short Pump looks like a bright, organized, and very welcoming childcare center. The classrooms and playground are clean and well designed, and the staff seems caring and professional. You can tell the kids feel comfortable and happy here. We would be glad to collaborate in the future and bring fun activities from Let’s Party for their wonderful students. 🎉

Bright Horizons at Short Pump has been a wonderful part of our family. From our first day our experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The teachers are all exceptionally caring and qualified and treat our child like their own. They are dedicated to helping our child develop and progress both with communication and motor skills; numerous times we have benefited from our teachers’ expertise in navigating developmentally appropriate behavior changes. They do more than just watch your children during the day - they are truly educators. The center director and assistant director do a great job communicating with families and have put together programs to engage parents and build community, which goes above and beyond what I would expect. Being a smaller center, it truly feels like you know the other families in your class. Plus the center is incredibly clean and well organized -little kids are chaotic, but the center feels calming and clean - especially the outdoor play areas. We are so happy with Bright Horizons Short Pump and plan to keep our family enrolled until we start kindergarten!

I'm sure Bright Horizons may be an amazing place for some families, but it wasn’t the right fit for us. The teachers are wonderful, and the management team is always welcoming, they greet you with a big smile every day! The STEM room is enormous, and the backyard playgrounds are by far the largest of any daycare in the area. Our concern was specifically with our 14-month-old baby. The infant classrooms are smaller compared to those at other daycares we've seen. Instead of progressing, our baby began regressing — crawling more, throwing food, and sleeping less. This wasn't an isolated case. I know of at least one other baby who had difficulty learning to walk in the infant classroom. Additionally, there’s a five-star review from a parent who mentioned that her baby had developmental delays but started walking just three weeks after transitioning to the toddler room. I don’t believe that was a coincidence, it’s likely her baby didn’t have enough space in the infant classroom to begin walking. These are three separate cases pointing to the same issue, and I believe it’s something that needs to be addressed. One more thought for parents touring daycares: I’ve learned that the most important factor isn't how big the STEM room is, it’s the atmosphere of the place. Babies will tell you everything you need to know, if you know how to listen. Again, I think Bright Horizons is a great place and the perfect daycare for some families, but it’s important to understand whether it’s the right one for your family.

Bright Horizons is the BEST! We have loved watching our son grow and thrive at BH Short Pump since he started a year ago. The teachers/staff are so warm, welcoming, and fun. We love the updates in the app all day with photos/videos and details about his eating, sleeping, and diapering. We have total peace of mind dropping him off knowing he’s in the best of hands. We love the curriculum, enrichment activities, and emphasis on reading + outdoor play. Also, the center is very clean, secure, and the staff is wonderful at communicating with the parents. Couldn’t imagine a better experience than we’ve had at BH!

We have been so pleased with our experience at Bright Horizons! Our son loves his teachers and he is constantly doing fun, exciting activities. We love the consistent updates on the app. Communication is wonderful. We always feel in the know about updates and activities going on at Bright Horizons. We are always greeted by friendly faces at the front desk at drop off and pick up. The facility is bright and open and has a great STEM room that the children go to a couple times a week. We could not be more pleased with our experience!
