Bright Horizons At North Durham

We have loved every one of my child's teachers. They are really caring and ensure that my child has fun and most importantly, is well taken care of. Communication is impeccable. They notify me of every diaper change, send me pictures, tell me how much food was eaten, and are really on top of everything.

This is an absolutely wonderful daycare center! The leadership and staff are fantastic - my daughter is always happy to go and has developed positive, loving relationships with the adults working here. We have been going to BH North Durham for over a year and I cannot overstate how much she has learned and developed in terms of her vocabulary, social interaction, and accomplishing big toddler milestones. She is consistently exposed to a diverse array of snacks and meals, and her teachers had her sitting in a chair drinking from an open cup before we did at home! The classrooms are bright and well maintained, and there is a nice outdoor space as well without any nearby traffic. This is a great community with genuinely dedicated and responsive educators. I am so thankful we found this little gem when we moved to Durham.

After the initial couple of years of the pandemic, we decided to reenroll our kiddos into daycare. We heard great things about Bright Horizons so we took a chance! It was one of the best decisions we've made thus far as parents. Catherine, the Director, is simply phenomenal! She is incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and empathetic to the parent and teacher experience; she works tirelessly to make sure her teachers/staff are supported and parents are informed and involved. The facility is adorable, cozy and warm, stocked with great learning and experienced-based tools and materials, and facilitates community and connection. We were previously in a daycare setting where the older classes did a lot of worksheets to help with kindergarten prep. Bright Horizons goes above and beyond and has a great grasp on the developmental process; they know how to use both structured and unstructured play to foster learning. Our youngest can write her first and last name, knows a lot of numbers, the months of the year, and the list is endless. I feel incredibly confident in her readiness for traditional school. I am beyond grateful for the experiences we had at Bright Horizons and I cannot rate them highly enough!

Bright Horizons at North Durham has been a main stay for our family (LGBT) since our son was 6 months old (he is not 19 months). We have had nothing be good experiences for him. He claps in his car seat when we pull into the parking lot. We are welcomed each morning with a smile and thorough covid screen. Prior to covid we were able to walk the school and see how safe and clean everything was. Since returning to school once they opened after covid we were happy with the protocols put in place for entry each morning, cleaning, and in terms of communication. I am an ICU nurse with high expectations for cleaning and safety, especially now. We have gotten to know the staff over the last year and have/would suggest this center to anyone wanting great care for their kids. We especially love all the outdoor activities and planned learning activities.

I 100% recommend this daycare to any parents seeking care. They have been amazing and have truly done an amazing job with safety under the current circumstances of the pandemic. My toddler, who has delayed speech and at home for 1.5 yrs, has progressed so much at North Durham BH. He's pointing, saying words, communicating, and overjoyed every time he goes in. From the teachers to the director to the admin, they have been helpful and wonderful. Price is reasonable too! If you're thinking about it, trust that your children are in good hands here.
