Bright Horizons At Del Mar

This place was a game changer for our daughter. We joined during Covid and stayed through Kinder and wish we could have even done 1st grade there (if the option existed). The teachers are incredible. Miss Angel has helped give our daughter such a strong foundation alongside all her other incredible teachers like Ms, Whitney, Ms. Ausra and Ms. Preeti, to name just a few. Miss Sandy is running the place beautifully and the front office always greets you with a smile (Ms. Lisa and Ms. Tina). We miss this place terribly and our now 2nd grader is so strong in Math and Reading in addition to her social/emotional development at this stage because of the foundations from Bright Horizons that we cannot recommend this place enough.

Both of our kids attended/are attending this preschool, which is a testament to how much we love the school and trust that they will provide the best care for our children. The director, Ms. Sandy, is genuinely caring and very hands-on with day-to-day management. The office staff are friendly, organized, and incredibly responsive. You can just tell that they adore the children - my daughter will make a point to stop by the office everyday to say hello :) While we have had great experiences with all the teachers (from the 2 year old class to kinder, as we have experienced it all), Ms. Angel, the kindergarten teacher is especially amazing and remains our child’s favorite teacher of all time, even when it has been several years since graduating. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the activities are thoughtful and fun—water play in the summer is a huge hit, and the class performances are super fun as well. I also love that the school app shares photos and short videos for the day, which keeps us connected to our child's school activities. Longer care hours (8-5:30) and year-long care with minimal closing days is also so convenient for working parents. Would recommend the school wholeheartedly - we have been burned with prior experiences at another preschool, and were so lucky to have found Bright Horizons as a safe, nurturing and warm place for our kiddos.

My daughter has attended Bright Horizons Del Mar since age two and is currently a TK student in Dean Room with Ms. Angel. We’ve had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this incredible school. The space is beautiful and the curriculum is thoughtful and challenging. I also love that there’s a deliberate focus on fostering curiosity, opportunities for exploration and meaningful connections. The staff is warm, loving and kind - and the passion that the teachers exude for teaching and being part of the growth journey of my daughter is something I’ll never forget and always cherish.

Both our children attended Bright Horizons for 3 years. In all 3 of those years, our family felt cared for, valued, and nurtured. Our children grew confidence, skills as learners and knowledge that prepared them for Elementary school. The staff and teachers are welcoming, make themselves available and have a genuine interest in the well-being of your child. The following highlights our experience at Bright Horizon. When we first found out that our son would be entering into the Dean classroom this past Fall, we were told by many families to expect an incredible year. Comments such as, ‘Ms. Angel is magical’ or ‘you are in for a treat’ set the bar. And as the school year comes to an end, we have now experienced that ‘magic’ and we understand the gift that is - Ms. Angel. When you enter the Dean classroom, you not only see the learning that is taking place, you also can feel it. Students are laughing, creating, asking questions, collaborating, and exploring. The walls, shelves and tables are colorful, organized, accessible, and purposeful. There is a sense of safety and community that has been cultivated. The students gravitate to Ms. Angel like a magnet- eager to share a new discovery or a project they have been exploring and developing. And no matter how big or small, Ms. Angel responds to their excitement with encouragement and praise. Our son has grown not just with knowledge and skills (and that leap has been huge), but with confidence and a sense of who he is and what makes him special. Ms. Angel truly sees her students- she sees what they show to the world, but also what they hide. She nurtures their sensitivities and provides them with opportunities to pursue their interests and strengths. Ms. Angel took the time to learn who our son is and what he is capable of and fostered that sense of self within him. She understood that him having an off day was in fact a cry out for a hug, or that his humor was masking an insecurity, What you are left with after a year in the Dean classroom is an enormous feeling of gratitude. Gratitude that there are teachers like Ms. Angel still in the classroom impacting children’s lives. Gratitude for the energy, warmth, creativity, and love that is required to create such a magical school year. Gratitude that your child had a year to be taught and seen by Ms. Angel. Our preschool era has come to an end, but we leave Bright Horizons with gratitude for the entire staff and the experience our children had.

My child attended Bright Horizons at Del Mar for two years. The teachers were always warm and kind, and in the TK class my child received excellent education that made the transition to school very smooth. Even now, my child still smiles and talks fondly about those wonderful days.
