What Parents Say
Bright Horizons at Bellefair receives overwhelmingly positive feedback for its caring staff, engaging curriculum, and strong communication with parents. However, one detailed negative review raises serious concerns about inadequate handling of alleged teacher misconduct and insufficient accountability procedures.
My daughter started in the Toddler program at Bellefair about two months ago and it has been such a positive experience for both her and I since the minute we walked in the door. My daughter is flourishing in the Toddler program and I am amazed at how much she has learned from the teachers there in such a short time. The entire staff goes above and beyond to make sure she is well taken care of and that all of my questions are answered. I am also very impressed with how they are handling all of the new policies and procedures in response to COVID-19. I highly recommend Bellefair for any parents looking for childcare!
Our son has had an amazing experience at Bright Horizons at Bellefair. From the infant class all the way through pre-K he has been well cared for and engaged when at Bright Horizons. The directors and the center are very accommodating to working parents and the center rarely closes. Our son has grown socially as well as academically as he has progressed through the years. I highly recommend this center!
Having just moved to the area our daughter started at Bright Horizons Bellefair a few months ago. Admittedly we were nervous, especially given everything occurring in the world. I have to say the staff has done an amazing job, at no point have I doubted their commitment or dedication to the the safety and health of the children. They are kind, caring, and treat the kids as if they were their own.
we relocated to Westchester from the city and at the same time decided to change our child care from having a full-time nanny to using full-time daycare. We had toured several facilities in the area but felt most at home with Bright Horizons at Bellefair. The small community feel was the perfect transition for our daughter and for us as parents. Christina as director was a gigantic part of our decision - we trust her decisions and her style and have not been disappointed. That fit has been key. It is nerve-wracking to find reliable care that you can also rest easy with while being working parents. If there is ever any concern with our daughter's well-being, we get a phone all. We can call whenever we want if we want to check-in. The app has also been fabulous - pictures and updates throughout the day. We are so grateful we are planning to sign up baby #2 after he or she arrives this spring. Bellefair has been wonderful for us and we highly recommend them!!
My daughter attended this center for about 5 months and she loved it, so did I. Until I noticed a few incidences with a teacher in the toddler classroom Katherine. I personally witnessed her push a child in the playground out of frustration because he was climbing on a seesaw and wanted him to get down. The child fell backwards on his bottom from her push. On several occasions I would hear her yell at the children yelling with anger and frustration as a child cried. I reported all of the incidents to the director and assitant director who "spoke" to her but never documented anything. Then it hit home and became personal when my child came home saying Katherine hurt her as she held her right knee. After witnessing Katherine's behavior in the previous incidents why would I not believe my child. I filed a formal complaint with corporate who claimed to conduct an investigation and that they would notify Child Protective Services of the incident. In addition, the mother of the child who Katherine pushed in the playground I held a conversation with her one morning. She informed me that aside from the incident I witnessed she had to file a complaint against Katherine with the director because her son had deep scratches on his neck and told her Katherine did it. So how many incidents, formal complaints and injured children is it going to take for Katherine to be dismissed or at the very least properly disciplined for her actions? Well after placing her on a leave for two weeks, "allegedly" conducting an investigation, "allegedly" contacting CPS who never interviewed me or my child, Katherine was bought back. The reason I was given was she has 15 years with Bright Horizon and never recieved a complaint and could not find her at fault in regard to the complaint I was filing. Of course if your directors never documented anything what would they find? They continued to allow her to work with our most prized possessions our children. I ultimately remove my child from this center. I removed her from the Bright Horizon franchise all together. I absolutely lost all faith and trust in the care that Bright Horizon provides. I write this review so parents can be aware of what may occur even in a center as prestigious and well recognized as Bright Horizons. Don't get me wrong they have an excellent curriculum but they need better oversight and review procedures even for staff members who have tenure. Pay attention to your children's body language around others they will tell you all that you need to know.
