What Parents Say
Brickell International Academy receives predominantly positive feedback, with parents praising the caring teachers, bilingual curriculum, and strong communication. However, some concerns exist regarding administrative issues, staff turnover, and billing inconsistencies.
Brickell International Academy is an exceptional bilingual preschool that truly feels like a second home for our children. From day one, Director Gayla has led the school with warmth, professionalism, and a clear vision for academic excellence and joyful learning. Under Gayla’s leadership, the teachers are caring, engaged, and deeply focused on each child’s growth — not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Parents regularly receive updates, pictures, and insights into their child’s progress, which creates a strong bridge between home and school. The bilingual curriculum is thoughtful and meaningful, encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in both English and Spanish. Families often comment on how quickly their children thrive — gaining language skills, making friends, and embracing learning every day. We highly recommend Brickell International Academy for families seeking a nurturing, stimulating, and globally minded preschool experience in Miami.
We have had a lovely experience with our toddler program experience. The teachers are attentive to our child’s needs and this has developed a genuine joy to go to school daily.
BIA was always like a family for us, we always felt very comfortable leaving our kids there as we were certain that they were in good hands. My boys went to BIA since they were 6 months old and until pre-k. We loved the program, activities, and of course the teachers. Dani and Luisana will always have a special place in our hearts, their approach to learning is incredible and they are also loving and caring with the kids. The kids were always very engaged in their learning process. My kids were always very happy and will always remembered their time at BIA.
Ms Luisi and the rest of the staff are caring, kind and professional. Every space is spotless and safe for everyone. They do a great job with my daughter, she loves going and wants to stay longer! We also appreciate the great communication between Ms Luisi and us, as she’s always responsive and shares the kid’s progress daily. Overall we love BIA!
The teachers are great, but the administration is not. We've had two kids at BIA for the past 3 years and can say that the teachers have consistently had a passion for the kids' well-being and learning. Both kids have always liked going to school, enjoyed their teachers, and shown growth in their education and development. That said, the administration is often sloppy and uninformed. This has become progressively worse over the years to the point of us looking to change schools earlier than we would have liked. The bills are often wrong, prices increase yearly (and have increased mid year as well), random fees are sometimes assesed, school notifications are late and inconsistent, email communications are unprofessional and lack proper grammar (especially for school leaders), and rules are arbitrarily enforced. I used to think the school was significantly better than others in Brickell, but now I'm hard pressed to say the school is worth the money anymore. Schools in Miami aren't known for their amazing quality, but this has been following a trend of declining quality despite increasing prices. In the end, the kids are mostly insulated from these frustrations, so I suppose it's fairly average overall.
